MINI made headlines in mid-April when it announced the production of its one millionth car of the current generation. And on Wednesday, June 28th, that momentous vehicle was delivered to first time MINI owners Steve and Kerry Lockhart.

This particular MINI is an all-electric MINI Cooper SE, built at the Plant Oxford in the UK. The plant has a rich history and is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, making this delivery even more special.

The Lockharts, who hail from Redwood Meadows, expressed their excitement at being a part of MINI’s rich history, stating that they’ve been fans of the brand for years and had just purchased their first MINI earlier this year. “To be a small part of its rich history is both humbling and exciting,” said Steve Lockhart.

The one millionth MINI 3 door of the current generation was delivered at MINI Calgary in Alberta, Canada, and boasts special features and badging to celebrate its heritage and milestone status. To mark the occasion, a celebration was hosted at MINI Calgary in true MINI style.

But the most heartwarming moment for the Lockharts was a video message from Charlie Cooper, the grandson of John Cooper and a member of the MINI royal family, who welcomed them to the family. “You’re now part of the family, so get out there and enjoy it!” he exclaimed.

MINI has been a beloved brand since its inception, with celebrities, musicians, and royalty all falling in love with its charm. The brand celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2019 and continues to capture hearts with its unique style and community. The Lockharts may have been surprised by the fanfare surrounding their new car, but it’s clear that they’ve fallen just as much in love with the brand, the vehicle, and the community.
