Photo Gallery: The Design Process for the All New MINI Aceman
MINI has created something a bit different with the new Aceman. In doing so, it’s become very clear that the strategy MINI is following is to make each new product distinct. And with the full line-up of the new MINI model range now complete, we can clearly see how that plays out. But how did they get there and what did the process look like?
We have a look at the design process that brought the Aceman to life. From sketch to clay models, MINI had documented the process giving us a glimpse into the thought that went into the new Aceman. So sit back, grab your favorite beverage, and take a look at the following photos that walk us through that process.
Seeing the early concept drawings is always exciting. I just wish they could make a car look like that (all wide and low to the ground). I need those D-pad inspired wheels!
For the exterior, it looks like they hired all the understudies who earn less money, from Land Rover and Kia. They put blindfolds over their eyes, handed each one a blunt piece of coal and led them to a sheet of paper on their floor, where they were told to draw using their feet. Thus was born the 2025 countryman. C’mon, they threw away all MINI history and produced this. I saw it in person last weekend, it’s not any better in the flesh.

Ah the 3 dimensional fabric..where dust enters and never escapes. An allergy attack with ever shift into Drive.
