Couldn’t make it to Geneva? Due to some last second scheduling issues neither could we. But luckily we have a few friends in the industry there to help us out. So with that said (plus a tip of the cap to Horatiu for the photos) we present you the MINI Countryman at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

<p>Steering wheel leather looks better, more BMW Leather.</p>
<p>Chrome and black looks nice on the wheel, feels also more BMW influence.</p>
<p>i’m interested to see one in person. those doors (all 4 of them) look really small from the inside shots. i wonder how far the open and how easy it is for people to get in and out.</p>

<p>Framed doors. interesting. I like it, especially the S bumpers. Maybe someday the ‘S’ will get its own facelift and not look like the Corolla one!!</p>
<p>I like the solid/quality look.
However, I would prefer, dare I say, a hood scoop on the S model as opposed to the extra opening at the bottom of the top grill,which looks strange to me. Also, would prefer oval head lights like on current MINIs.

<p>I really want to love this car as I do with all things MINI but I can’t. It’s not the fact that it’s bigger or caters to the SUV crowd; those are/were just potshots from my end in the past.</p>
<p>It just doesn’t feel right and somehow pieced together. All this time I thought for example that the wheels that are on the Cooper above were some sort of temporary wheel for testing or something. Now I realize they are “real” wheels. Bah …</p>
<p>That last set of windows in the back feel tacked on. They just don’t flow with the rest on the windows in the profile. It feel like that entire rear quarter was an aftermarket extension to the real car.</p>
<p>The hatch itself looks like a large empty canvas and the logo/handle size is best left for the likes of Chevy and Ford. Never thought I’d see a huge belt buckle stlye logo on a MINI of all cars. Tacky.</p>
<p>All this being said … I am sure it will sell by the bucketload and am sure is a competent driver</p>

<p>I’m interested to hear what the rationale was in the design decision on the door frames. Structural Safety? OR user safety (not getting appendages pinched between panes of movable glass)?</p>
