I would love to be able to watch the full races somehow. Would love to be able to watch the WTCC too!
ReplyOur friends down at AUSmotive.com have got some great footage of the Eastern Creek MINI Challenge from Sydney Australia.
This is why we want the JCW Challenge MINIs to come to the US.
You can view even more below. Good stuff.

ReplyOMG! MINI USA could use a series like this in the USA! If only they could convince race sanctioning bodies like SCCA, IMSA or Grand-Am that having a MINI Challenge support race prior to one of their big pro events would be worth it, then convince enough teams to campaign a MINI in a series like that, with substancial prize money and technical support, it would be a no-brainer!
As lovely as that all would be, and as much as I would like to see it happen, I personally don’t think it will happen. It would take a fabulous full time promoter with a team to back him up, and some serious factory financial backing.
ReplyThank you, Thank you, Thank you…! Great video to watch, and live vicariously thru. At least until just a couple more weeks. Mine lands on the 14th, so should have it soon!!! Man was I thrilled to read the Factory JCW car is basically the same unmodified drivetrain as these racers…! Whoo Hoo. Some stepped-up suspension & I should be good for a decade or more with my new Lil’Buddy (that’s going to be his name). :D
ReplyGlad you guys are enjoying the clips. There’s four more races left this season, so make sure you keep an eye out for more updates. Next race is in mid September.
Australia is a pretty small market and it’s not been as easy to fill the grid in the first season. But each race everything seems to be improving, from the quality of the grid to the quality of the racing.
Good signs for MINI Australia!
