MINI United: Interview with Paddy Hopkirk

We had the opportunity to chat with Paddy Hopkirk during MINI United 2009. The man is a racing legend and needs no introduction but for those who may not know, Hopkirk won the Rally Monte Carlo in 1964 in a Mini. Hopkirk’s car number was 37 which is the reason that number remains special to Mini/MINI enthusiasts to this day.

We were lucky enough to share the VIP lounge with Paddy, Mike Cooper and many others this evening for the Paul Weller concert. All I can say is that MINI has rolled out the red carpet for us once again.

Great interview. A bit of a hero of mine.

Most of my MINI’s have followed the colour scheme of “33 EJB”.

It’s partly because of Paddy that I owned so very, very many classic Mini’s. Not sure I should thank him for that though ;-)

Paddy Hopkirk is a living legend in the Mini/MINI community. And, I have to hand it to you guys, that was one of the coolest interviews I’ve heard with him so far. Motor on, Paddy!!
