We’ve seen the pictures, now it’s time for some video. Autoexpress has a short clip of the Clubman being put through it’s paces at the famed Nurburgring.
>Company bosses were being a bit coy about a production future for the MINI Concept, which was unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show last year. But these pictures clearly show a disguised prototype of a MINI estate out testing – this isn’t something car companies do for fun, so we’ll take this as confirmation that a modern-day interpretation of the classic Mini Traveller is on the way, possibly as early as 2007.
This appears to be the same test mule we have already seen spy photos of. Besides everyone still calling it the Traveller, it is nice to see it move.
Is it just me or does this thing look like it was flying through the ring. And probably it’s due to the aspect ratio, but it looked like it handled even better than the mini, maybe because the aspect ratio made it look really flat on the floor.
According to WikiPedia, I did spell it wrong. But I didn’t have the ASCII code for an umlaut readily available.
Man, those tires sure were loud!
Not exactly a “spy” shot – it almost looks like a current progress Factory report – still, it’s nice to see it in motion.
Am I incorrect in thinking that the aspect ratio is incorrect? It sort of makes it hard to picture the relative length…
Wow..what a great job to have!
I want this car! It will certainly be my next Mini purchase. I don’t know why i’m so excited by this project, but I am.
Love it! Can’t wait to get our race track certified Clubman!
Me too 🙂
Ian are u going to add yet another MINI?
is it just me or does this thing sound like a tie fighter from star wars?
Wow! Even with the longer wheelbase, it looks like it handles like a true MINI. I’m getting very excited about this.
Wowzer!
Keep the info coming…I want one
>is it just me or does this thing sound like a tie fighter from star wars?
Can’t tell from the squeal of the run flats. They really don’t seem to be enjoying themselves there 😉

Oh well, can’t wait till it’s out.
Nice amount of footage, shame the aspect ratio is off. I submitted the following link a few days ago. The video is much shorter, but I think the aspect ratio is correct on this one:

(You may need to scroll down to see the video).
Darn, the formatting is screwing up the URL. Place underscores (_) around the word “traveller” near the end of the URL to get it to work.
Innersting. Three questions:
1) JCW?
2) AWD?
3) Can you fit a 254cm windsurf board inside?
Isn’t it the “Nuremburgring”? 😉
Oh yeah, Gabe isn’t running things anymore. 😆
no. it’s Nurburgring you tool.
whoa… easy there everyone.

If you had a Mac, a “ü” is as simple as ⌥-u (or option) then “u”. 😉
Make mine AWD and long enough to Rallye!
The text claims it’s 80mm longer than the standard MINI; that’s only about 3″. It must be more than that.
As Bobby Dylan’s singin’ these days,
“I woke up this morning, I think I must be traveling wrong.”
Superb. More on this, please. Thanks DB & Gabe.
That will be my next car!
The wheelbase is 80mm longer… then there’s the extra length at the back.
