Another great review of the Clubman as you would expect. What’s new is the review is written AND in video form.
>Leaving the Club Door aside, the Clubman is actually a very accomplished small car. You mustn’t think of it as an estate, because it isn’t, although it’ll accommodate four adults in reasonable comfort and swallow a couple of their bags, too. One of the neatest design touches sees a pair of wide-opening doors instead of a hatchback at the rear of the car. One downside of this arrangement, however, is the thick central pillar in the middle of the rear-view mirror that we found to be really distracting. Take a look at the video and you’ll see what we mean.

Nice review – the video is the best shot that I have seen of the view out the back while driving. I wish that MINI would make more color schemes available to reviewers so that we could see something other than the blue and silver.
“For the record, the Clubman’s designer told us that the single rear door was on the right so that the fuel filler cap could be positioned further forward on the left and so meet stringent US crash-test requirements.”
So – it’s the USA’s fault that the ‘club door’ is on the wrong side for RHD markets?
