Adam Carolla perused the LA Autoshow recently and had a chat with Vinnie Kung, MINI USA Product Manager. On the agenda, the new MINI Roadster and Coupé concepts, the MINI crossover and the fact that Carolla is infatuated with the GP. Vinnie turns that into Coupé talk interestingly by mentioning that the new concept is actually similar in concept to the GP with more rigidity and reduced weight.

Not a bad video at all. Vinnie makes it sound like the R60 is going to be on the market before the twins which kinda surprised me since everything I’ve heard to date says the twins will be out first.

Good choice though Adam has on the GP lust.

So who was that other goof?

I just hope the door opening on that Coopster is not like the one on the Cobalt SFE. Its doorway hits me at eyebrow level when I try to enter. (And, of course, will I be able to afford the Coopster?)

@fredrichaberer.. ever try getting into a Lotus Exige?

With roll cage?

Dude the main trick of the Exige is not getting in its getting out. Doubly so that spending anytime behind the wheel of one makes a drivers backside not wanting to ever leave it. lol

sorry guys but the interviewer has a nasty accent, very irritating for a tv guy. I was almost going to stop watching.

Almost… You like that nasty talk, don’t you?

I like Vinnie’s non-committal, but leading, answer to the all-wheel drive question. Said with a smile no less!

@JONPD…. actually yes, getting out was really tough for this 62 year old. I had to ask the salesman for help.

This is from Adam’s Carcast (nearly) weekly podcast, :

If Mr. Carolla is reading this…Ditch the dude in the Hat…he looks like he doesnt belong…
Kudos to Carolla tho – never would have pegged him as a MINIac! LOL

Great interview…but yes, send that guy to the Chevy booth before recording next time!
