Todd and I had a chance to catch-up with Dr. Armbrecht (VP of the MINI brand worldwide) yesterday a few hours before the introduction of the MINI Beachcomber. Dr. Armbrecht talked about the Beachcomber, the R60 and of course the coming Roadster and Speedster. We even got a smile with the mention of MINI in the WRC.

Great interview guys, you try as you must to get info, but MINI only gives you a taste.lol You have to just read between the lines.

Will the LED coconuts be a showroom design for the launch of the Beachcomber, I could see MINI bringing sand to the showroom.lol

The color is mokeish but more gray, as mokes from the day had the 60-70’s tan’s.

I thought the twins would be there as I wanted to see them in person, I guess people in LA get more attention in that project. I would have done the beachcomber in LA and twins in the two cities, Detroit and Windsor.

The MINI E should come in a JCW facia, retaining the MINI E base, maybe have a JCW button for programable torque.

Great interview and a huge thanks to Dr. Armbrecht for the interview.

Still seems Mini is bound and determined to play in the SUV market still much to my distress. So my only question for Dr. Armbrecht is if growing the brand for increasing Mini families when are we going to see a 4 ton third row Mini for families of 5!

This part of the Mini small part of the Mini community is less than happy with this mentally at BMW/Mini with growing the brand into yet another SUV on the road. I still think a four door extended Clubman with AWD would have not caused a minute of controversy in the Mini community compared to a SUV.

“The SUV backlash…..” has continued!
