In conjunction with Sony’s Gran Truism 6, MINI has released a digital only concept of the forthcoming 2016 Clubman. The differences? Just about everything. This Clubman is a fictionalized race car that takes the MINI formula to the extreme. The game and the car will be available digitally in March. Now, on to the numbers and what they do and don’t tell us about the rumored JCW Clubman.
Powertrain figures are, as you’d expect, outlandish. Under the bonnet is MINI’s 2.0L four cylinder pumping out a virtual 395 hp. With MINI’s All4 all wheel drive system helping to lay down the rubber, the Vision does 0-62 in only 3.5 seconds.
What does this tell us about the new Clubman and a potential JCW version? As we’ve previously reported, look for a higher output 2.0L four cylinder coupled with the All4 system helping to create the most powerful and capable MINI of all time. Even more intriguing, rumors of this version of BMW’s high output 2.0L having upwards of 300 hp continue to circulate.
However we don’t expect anything quite as wild as the Vision Gran Turismo.
The 2016 MINI Clubman will begin production this summer with the first examples hitting dealers in Europe in late summer. Look for US delivering to start in the fall.

Sort of reminds me of Hot Wheels.

p>Bad@ss</p

I know this is just a fanciful digital concept, but this direction is not for me.

When it comes to looks this concept mops the floor with what MINI will deliver with the new Clubman.

Very cool. What is it?

Kia Sportspace and I have to say it is very good looking. But if the beauty is only skin deep that won’t mean much…..It appears to be bigger than the new Clubman might end up, but it has my attention at a minimum.

Yeah but it’s a “KIA” :-)

Sadly, Kia might have a better record for reliability than Mini does….I don’t know for sure but Mini sure has had a lot of recalls. Kia has made some great concepts but they haven’t translated to the market. Unfortunately come to think of it, Mini’s concepts don’t really translate to the market, at least not the edgy fun loving parts of them. Countryman had some neat concepts but the Countryman has little draw for me.

Kevin, you’re correct, Kia may have a better reliability record. Hyundai (KIA parent Co.) has come a long way in quality and reliability. I’ve even read that Hyundai is inching closer to Toyota.

Some of KIA’s vehicles crash test ratings (such as Forte) by the IIHS are rated poor. The Soul does have good IIHS ratings. Not convinced that build quality and fit and finish on KIA’s are that good. Still iffy for me.

I have a 2004 R50 which has served me well. I just put in an order for an F56 S Cooper and have concerns on the reliability, given the recent recalls, especially the cracking of oil filter housing,

The F56 Base Cooper Rear Passenger crash issue and wonder why the cooper S is not affected?

I test drove a Hyundai Elantra GT Hatch, while not bad and plenty of standard options and comes with a 10 yr, 100,000 mile warranty, didn’t find quality up to my liking.

Hope all the F56 reliability and recalls have been found and fixed.

I will say this for Mini, they took very good care of me whenever a warranty issue came up on my R53, I had it for 10.5 years though so the warranty had long expired when they head on my JCW cracked, causing a pricey repair bill. But I loved the car despite its foibles, which is why I held onto it for as long as I did. I have a 328i Wagon now, its a solid feeling car, but I don’t have the attachment to it I had with my MINI…..I’m hoping a Clubman JCW makes its way into the world and bring me back to the MINI fold, that sketch could be a good start (though I prefer 4 doors). Interestingly they kept the barn doors around back, I’m still not sure those are better than a regular hatch.

The Kia Track’ster was one of my favs at Chicago Auto Show this year.

Not sure if anyone hear plays GT6 but I feel like alot of the Vision concepts are hatches. I think this would have been a great way to let the roadster go out with a bang. MINI need more cars in that game.

For real. There’s a Countryman in there, but not a Clubbie! (My 4 yr old daughter made me buy a teal classic and a solid gold R50 yesterday because she loved the colors. LOL)

Looks more like a MEANI Clubman am I right?

.. I’ll see myself out.

I kinda like how they interpreted the rear of the car.

I see a lot of Audi here at first glance.

Another grand departure away from Mini-ness.
