The 2017 MINI Countryman JCW was at the Ring earlier this week undergoing final suspension calibration and Motor1 caught it all on video. The new JCW Countryman will be equipped All4 and the same 231 hp JCW engine found in the F56 and F57 MINI JCWs (according to sources earlier this year). There are however a few things we don’t know. Chiefly if MINI will be including the dual clutch transmission that’s rumored to hit the MINI range for toe F56 LCI next fall.
We expect the Countryman JCW to debut next spring as a halo product for the brand.

Where exactly is the video?

If the new gen is at least as roomy as the current X1 I think I am in. Love the shape and stance of this. When is the next gen reveal here on MF?

That sounds awful manual-y, but if that’s the DCT, yay to that shift action! And what a nice amount of noise :)

I hope the plug-in can accommodate so JCW moods (muhahaha)

The car looks great. Seems like an awful lot of body roll in the corners?

really? For a small SUV?

if the Countryman John Cooper Works is just a “small SUV” then something is very wrong.

Is that an F54 Clubman JCW prototype at 1:47? I see JCW big brakes and a missing driver’s side fog light to provide air for the extra radiator that the JCW engine has.

Good eye. That’s exactly what it is.

So I am planning on buying a countryman around March/April 2017. I am feeling blonde but all the 2017/2018 talk has me confused LOL. The article is titled 2017 Countryman but the video is title 2018 Countryman. What is going to be out around March of 2017 in the form of an S for me to buy? Thanks :o)

The video (which isn’t ours) is titled incorrectly. The all new Countryman comes out this fall and will be around until 2023 when it’s replaced with another all new model. In 2020 it’ll be refreshed slightly. Hope that helps!

ty very much! That sorts it out totally for me :o)
