The John Whitmore Trophy race is the most insane classic Mini race we’ve ever seen. Named after the famous British touring car champion (who of course won in a Mini), the race takes two driver teams (typically a combination of amateur and professional) and sends them loose on the famed road course. One driver change is required but otherwise it’s just wheel to wheel racing.

This race is a follow-up all-Mini Betty Richmond Trophy at the last Revival, which saw nearly 60 minis battle through two heats and a final. However with only one 45 minutes race and a mandatory driver swap, things were bound to get interesting.

This year the race featured six-time Olympic and 11-time World Champion Chris Hoy, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, Le Mans 24hr winners Emanuele Pirro and André Lotterer, former F1 drivers Jochen Mass and Brendon Hartley, multiple Formula E Champion Jean-Eric Vergne and well as F1 drivers/broadcasters Martin Brundle, Karun Chandhok and Tiff Needell.

Grab your favorite beverage and get on the edge of your seat. This is a hell of a race.
