A MINI Boat?

Sent in by one of our Spanish readers are these pictures of the hottest thing for summer! If you are thinking that it looks like a MINI in the water, then you would be correct.

It looks like someone converted a CR/W MINI to actually operate in the water. Follow the link below to see more pictures in which you can see the windscreen was removed and you get a hint at the propulsion system. It is all in Spanish, but the pictures require no translation.

Looking closely, given the window proportions, it looks like it’s not a MINI converted to be a boat, but rather a boat converted to look like a MINI. Which is fabulous none the less. Ha!

Although I wasn’t at MINI United I know I had seen one of these plastic MINI’s at my local dealership in Orlando quite a few weeks back…..that thing was completely realistic looking!!! Great job to the person who carved this thing out to make a boat!!!!

I’m gald you liked the new! I saw it this morning placed at something like a port with karting and more stuff, and It was shocking to see a MINI floating in the water parked as a sea motorbike! Hahaha…

You’re all wrong so far. This is the new America’s Cup yacht design to be sailed off Valencia in 2009. Cup Holders syndicate Allinghi have surprised challengers Larry Ellison’s Oracle BMW team and Emirates Team New Zealand with this stunning new design. Allinghi Boss Alberto Bertarelli said ” We wanted to make yacht racing more like a Formula 1 car racing event”.

… So it’s not a real MINI – unlike the one used in the memorable scene in the movie Austin Powers – Goldmember, where a MINI Cooper resplendent in a Union Jack paint job is driven into the ocean (!)
