@axel, no worries. You dropped a little present right on my Mac this morning. A little coffee and a little WRC behind-the-scenes. Nice! Thanks for that.

Kool vid thanks. I’ve said all along this thing is a slug, looks wise, compared to the WRC cars racing now but really, if we’re, honest so did the original Mini against the cars it rallied against back in the day. Good luck to them. Where’s Marcus?

Still goes a long ways to show those hopping for a WRC R60 should not expect much of anything related to the actual Pro-drive car. I am sure MINI is standing by however to slap some stickers on a JCW and call it a WRC tribute car. (at times I honestly believe that MINI believes stickers are a performance mod).

Jon – I think everybody has realistic expectations about what a WRC inspired R60 would be about – except maybe you. Its not like we haven’t seen what Subaru or other marks whose cars have been prepared by Prodrive sold under the WRC association. Give it a rest already. You post this every time the car is mentioned.

If MINI can make a Countryman-based car that comes close in performance to the latest WRX or Ralliart (forget the STI and Evo) I would be interested. Of course it would also have to be close in price, which seems very unlikely. The 2011 WRX is a smoking deal.

I just saw this on AutoExpress: The proposed Audi A1 Quattro is likely to deliver around 240bhp – more than the 208bhp of the MINI Cooper S John Cooper Works

Personally, I am a car lover. A lover of good cars. Good functional cars that are rewarding to drive and offer a lot of value for the relevant currency unit. Not sure I would throw the Golf TDI in there, but definitely the Mark VI GTI. And most vintages of WRX. And the old Impreza RS(!). And the R53 MINI. And MazdaSpeed 3. And Ford Focus SVT. I love them all.

The R55/56 MINI, not so much. R60 “WRC”? We’ll see…

The photos circulating look hot. But photos don’t translate dimensions well. For WRC, I think it looks potentially lathargic. But, many major manufacturers have pulled out so the competition has convienently thinned. I hope it does well, MINI needs some new publicity in motorsports since the MK2s didn’t meet MK1s amatur racing standards. Sounds mean which is a good start.

lol at lav.. You just have to master the art of looking at the name first before you read. Only occasionally do I read a comment my JonPD now. It is very pleasant indeed.

sorry, Gabe, I had no time and only a freeware to make the screener ;-)
