MINI UK is launching its own brand of Counterfeit MINI commercials only with a bit more dry humour involved. The campaign will go live on July 22nd with a website and commercials at both the cinema and on TV. Here’s the official press release from MINI UK:
Due to worrying levels of MINI ‘pretenders’ appearing across the nation, MINI UK has launched a public information campaign highlighting the true advantages of the award-winning small car. MINI fans will be able to see the new campaign from 22 July on cinema and TV.
Emma Lowndes, MINI UK marketing manager, said: “We felt compelled to take this action when we were made aware of disappointed owners of fake cars who are stuck with vehicles offering poor performance and limited cornering ability.”
From Friday, the public can get useful tips on how to spot a genuine MINI from www.makesureitsaminiadventure.co.uk.

FINALLY U.S. MINIers got something first. :-)

But ours will be far more funnier.

It going to have to work very hard to be funnier than the Counterfeit MINI campaign by MINIUSA.

I don’t know Gabe…the cement mixer & horse are already funnier than the US counterparts…IMHO.

Wait til you see where the guy with the horse tries to put the fuel nozzle, and the piano that doesn’t corner…..
Its laugh out loud brilliant!

The site is up now.

Don’t forget to click on the pictures on the bottom. They all have funny videos with them.

I have to admit I prefer the UK humor – grappling hook cornering…I laughed out loud.

KUTE, but I’ll take the DocuDramas of the Counterfeit MINI’ over those. Where the hell is John Cleese and friends.

And where’s all the Fun Goodies? BAH!

I keep checking the “Remember Me” thingy but it keeps forgetting me….must be a special “Forget RB” preference Gabe installed.

RB, I’ve had that problem with MF remembering me, too. It’s been ok for me lately, but it’s definitely been flaky…

In a real cheese storm, he’d be in serious trouble.

Hah! I think these are better than the CCC’s commercials…

Boring.

The joke has already been done – well. Come up with a new idea and stop beating this into the ground.

In these versions, the humor is way too forced.

At least with the US campaign, their spoofing is smart and well produced. These look amateur.

I usually love Brit humor, and was really looking forward to a good laugh. Something got lost here.

Uh oh. We got ourselves a critic people.

Hey, isn’t that the point of “COMMENTS”.

And I agree with most of what he said not all but most….been there done that.

Thanks RB.

I agree. This is a “COMMENT” section, isn’t it?

Rob Livesey, I’m sorry if I’ve offended you, by not joining the love fest. It just didn’t do it for me. I guess if that makes me a “critic”, then so be it.

Lots of others did find it funny.
