The MINI drag car had it’s best showing yet this past weekend with an 11.26 in the quarter mile this at Palmdale. The speed at the end of the quarter mile was 121mph. That is 1.28 seconds faster than the previous best and the fastest MINI quarter mile ever run. While these numbers look good, they are even more impressive when you consider that they were achieved without nitrous.
Reportedly MINI USA and Fireball Tim racing have more speed goodies planned for the car in the weeks ahead.
The numbers are looking better, and much inline with the trap speed numbers obtained a few weeks ago. Not sure what they did to improve, but the speed of 118mph showed that the car had a lot more potential in it’s time.
Good job guys. Quite impressive for a front wheel drive car.
Gawd I remember going to dragstrips way back in the 60-70’s when the dragsters didn’t do that much better.
KUDOS.
“Fireball Tim’s” (annoying :-)) Web site says that the “M600” MINI accomplished this 11.26 second feat (above sea level, too). Yet I haven’t been able to find much information on what was done to turn a stock MINI into a mighty M600. Anybody know?
And does it have a sunroof? (Ducks. :-))
Twin Charged.
Vynal.
its twin charged … has carbon doors, boot and bonnet… a dash board for an interior and a carbon fiber seat… a ten thousand dollar engine mangement system with a throttle linkage as opposed to drive by wire… and drag slicks and a beautiful front mount intercooler… other than that… its pretty well stock… ohh yeah it has forged pistons but it has stock rods and a stock cylinder head! it has an 05 tranny with a factory lsd… uhh i think that about wraps it up but if i for got anything people can correct me!
Great job guys!
