First thought, after looking thru the pictures, is how ironic it is to include a badge honoring Sir Alec Issigonis – a man who eschewed excess in design.
Personally, I really dislike the wheels, but do like the instruments around the tach over the steering wheel.
It will be fun to see what the final production vehicle will look like.
It’s growing on me! I especially like the swivel driver’s seat – good for people with (soon-to-be) big dogs and handicapped individuals! No need to get the third/fourth doors if you have the swivel driver’s seat.
This concept looks much more thought out and practical than the Japan concept.
The dash…………..ah…….don’t know what to say…………the colour scheme reminds me off the Good Humor trucks of my youth……that side pod….now there you go a big ugly attachment to keep your mittens, ski cap and goggles in….huh?!
Usually when I see a concept I think, “wow is that cool”. Mini’s just not doing it for me with their concepts. I know they’re design studies so we’ll have to see what their new products are really like but I guess at some point they have to lose some folks to gain new folks. (keeping finger’s crossed)
YUCK! I don’t even like the roof rack and I have a rack on my 04MC to haul my bike around. The wheels, um are god awful. And, why is the paint around the rear hatch slightly different in color then the rest of the car? I did sort of like the first concept car but the last two have been really poorly thought out.
Would it have more fans over there in the USA if they dumped the sports equipment and instead put a gun rack in the back and a moose carrier on the front….?
Wow, how much better MINI would have done to have just left the Frankfurt car alone. I don’t mind the blue and actually really like the interior accents, but those wheels are hideous and they’ve blocked off the entire passenger-side rear window for a storage box to hold what, a hat, some gloves, and a scarf? Are you kidding me? I know it’s just a concept car and blah blah blah, but stupid is stupid regardless of if it ever sees the road. Let’s give one of the smallest cars on the freeway the biggest blind spot on four wheels. At least on the Tokyo car that cargo window held something substantial enough to sort of justify it being there (though not really) and was on the driver’s side where it would stay out of your line-of-site if you actually were to drive the car. It’s just sad to me that they couldn’t think of anything more interesting than a window cargo box to try to set the car apart. It’s gimmicky and people are going to see right through it. Is THIS all the innovative thinking we’re capable of MINI?
They’ve got a great car otherwise, though. I love the concept underneath and the bones of the interior. I’d like to see a little flatter, boxier, more classic Mini nose instead of the Aston Martin headlights, but otherwise I think it’s great. That’s why all the tacked-on gimmick rubbish bothers me so much.

i’d hit it. here’s hoping it comes to Chicago.
Now let’s see the production version of the MINI COOPER MK2!
The London motorexpo starts May 22nd. Maybe we’ll see it debut there? (pure speculation)

Gotta dig those wheels. I wonder if I can get them in hot orange?
I have to say that the new front end looks very much like Wallace from Wallace and Grommit fame !
The rest is a very bold design. Not sure what to think of it. Will have to wait and see how it actually turns out.
Sport Utility without the size. or the awd.

Like I’ve said before. Do it in a Woody, and I’m lining up at the dealer.
this has to be one of the most laziest concept design i have ever seen
Anyone see bits of the old International Scout in this MINI? Specifically side-on rear.
Just god-awful…
Not even a gun rack could save this thing.
