Making me itch even more to see “Who Killed the Electric Car?” I really wish that somebody would put some energy into going beyond the mediocre hybrids out there now. I’d be first in line. Maybe BMW can put their money where there mouth is with their whole “independent” ad campaign…
Seriously, I would love to have a different type of mini down the road. It would be great to have a mini that wasnt so polluting like ours current minis are…the more time passes the more uncomfortable I feel of pumping gas at the station…luckyly I only drive about 8 miles a day.
Hey Gabe, just in case you read the feedback on this silly article, on a more real note, is MINI working on something with E85 power or Biodesel? I would love to know!
Lotus is building the car bodies for the Tesla Roadster. A whole bunch of the Tesla designers were hired away from Lotus — so many that Lotus threatened to cancel the contract to build the bodies if they didn’t stop poaching their employees.
I would love to see BMW couple this hybrid concept with the hydrogen engines that they have been working on. That would be a truely spectactular car!!!
I spoke to my MA and I’m first on the list at my local dealer… 😉
“he car uses a small gasoline engine with four 160 horsepower electric motors on each wheel.”
So it’s got AWD too?
Dang! They should soo make that car commercial! LOL
And it’s Electric Blue. Perfect!!!!
A very interesting development, would like to see it light a fire under Mini to get busy and creat a performance hybrid mini.

Is it me, or does Tim’s Tesla look alot like a re-worked Lotus body?

Gee . . . . looks like the car could use some work in the fender flares dept.
