Another great review as you would expect. But this line really caught my eye.
>Even the turbocharged Cooper S I tested scored 29 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. If U.S. consumers show interest, Mini could import the even more efficient versions it sells in Europe that use a smaller gasoline engine, or run on diesel.
There has been much talk already about the diesel coming to the US, but the engine emissions aren’t clean enough for California and 8 other states at this time. Maybe MSNBC knows something we don’t.

The Diesel will spark my interest on the new R56. However, diesel gas around my neck of the woods is more expensive than Premium gas, but the greater MPG range should more than compensate for the added cost at the pump.
. . . loved this one from the after-article Comments:
If a guy is driving one he is surely a ****. One of the gayest rides ever built, some fruitcake is going to trade in his miatta for one I guess.
How can we either email BMW or let them know that we want the Mini Diesel in the States? Lets start a campaign to get them to clean it up and bring it over.
I cannot believe no one has commented on bluzeke’s post!
I can’t believe nobody has commented about the diesel comment in the article either 😉
