Here is something you don’t see everyday. A MINI covered with a million Swarovski crystals.
>It features over one-million Swarovski crystals in 50 different shades of color. Each crystal was scrupulously hand placed and it took four people 6 months to complete. The designs on the car portrays American scenery and symbols including The Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore etc. The total cost of the “American Icon”? A crystal and a dollar.

When they were thinking about putting American imagery all over a car I wonder if it occured to them that MINI is British (well, and thanks to BMW, kinda German now)
One word:
WHY?
well, at least they picked the right wheels.
Oh no! Somebody beat me to it.
Great idea, disappointing execution…
They took 2 beautiful things – a MINI, and crystal, and produced an amazingly expensive example of tackiness.
I’m sure many will be dazzled, however…
And ditto on AJ’s comment – duh!
It reminds me of the MINI ink pen that has that coast-to-coast scene and the MINI that floats between them. Even though MINIs are UK/German in origination, I do think a U.S. motoring theme is appropriate to explore.
As for the bling…very weird and strangely cool at the same time. At least it’s not 1) a stretch limo 2) has two front ends, or 3) has boobs painted on the bonnet!
I liked the limo!
Will this be available on the configurator?
Uhhhhhhhhhh……
Real classy…
I think somebody must have been using crystal when that idea was hatched.
And now we know why we don’t see this type of MINI every day….thank God.
Why take the time to do that and then put on those horrible, horrible…… HORRIBLE rims!!!
National Stationary Show?
What a strange place that must be… Javits is right up the street, maybe I’ll go see… Maybe not.
I bet they did a survey amongst Swarovski clients which wheels they like best.
those rims are hideous!
I think the design on the roof looks cool but thats about it.
Unbelievably, this cheesy nightmare is actually WORSE than the Swarovski Crystal 9-foot Bosendorfer Grand Piano I saw on display in a music store last year in Hong Kong.
The rims are truly hysterical.
Did anyone else also notice the really cheesy fake “gleamies” that the Photoshopped in? Ughhhh.
What a waste of time and money, (and a MINI).
Relax guys its just art, the mini is atleast a classy shape for them to begin with. It’s of the same vein as the tiled Mini that Mini.com had on their website for a long while, of course this one is much tackier imo.
We created this car as a promotional tool ‘to get noticed’ Did we achieve that? We think we think we did.If you really want to know what people think about it come and take look at us on the street, that’s if you can get near it. It’s on show at the Borgata hotel Atlantic city from june 13th on. come and take a peak.
