Gina Koutros from MINIUSA took time away from getting ready for the New York Auto Show to give us some more detail on MINI Takes the States 2008!
We find out the reasoning behind selection Miami, Boston, Chicago and LA for this years event. Plus a sneak peak into the reasoning behind separate weekends. For those of you that missed it, there was a poll conducted late last year as to what type of event owners would like to see, and the four regional events won hands down!
Again, those dates for those of you that haven’t put it into your calendars yet.
– Miami: June 13-15
– Boston: June 20-22
– Chicago: July 25-27
– Los Angeles: August 1-3
Everyone is invited, even if they don’t own a MINI! Of course, there will be something special going on for owners only as well. Registration should be open around the 2nd week of April. Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to let you know when as soon as we know!
Keep an eye (and ear) out here and at White Roof Radio for all the news and updates about MINI Takes the States 2008. No need to look anywhere else!

Yay!! I can’t wait!
I also want Gina’s job! 😉
Very good. Minis of Miami will be the host club for the MTTS ’08 kick off in Miami. We would like to get more involved in the festivities and I am reaching out to MF and MINIUSA for a contact name to get the ball rolling in anticipation of the June date.
Our club website is:

I guess should finally join MoM!
What’s the weather like in Chicago during July?
weather in CHGO in July??? HOT! Hot and humid! Bring your sun-screen…
Miami is blistering hot and humid as well. Come prepared…
Uuuuhhh. I so hope to be able to make it out to Chicago in July.

weather in CHGO in July??? HOT! Hot and humid! Bring your sun-screen…

Yeah, but it couldn’t be any hotter than July in Texas. The humidity does have me a bit worried. Dallas is pretty dry.
At least we’ve got tons of AC down here to escape the heat (not like Chicago doesn’t). When we lived in Washington, our apartment didn’t have AC. We didn’t need it, but kinda strange for somebody who grows up with it.
Well, the plan is to make it to Chicago and maybe get a little family vacation out of it. I’ve, at least, requested the time off from work.
Hello Gina Koutros,
Have not talked to you since before MTTS 2006.
Great to hear the MINIUSA insight. Tell Holly Babich hi, and the rest of the gang who i talked to in 2006. I think last time I talked someone was having a baby.
Hope everything is going well.
Cant wait to see you guys on the MTTS 08′
-Mike H.
Come on out everyone!!! Don’t let all of those old gangster movies or a little humidity scare you off from the great city of Chicago! As more info becomes available, we’ll have a better idea what’s going to happen here and we’ll be ready for you!
Definitely make a vacation out of it. There’s so much to see and do out here. Even if the temps get really hot… my top is down! no A/C for this guy… some sunscreen and a hat. Bring it on MTTS ’08 !!! We’re ready!
I can’t wait…
Can’t wait. And can’t believe my timing. I am moving to Miami in April and just ordered two Mellow Yellow Mini Coops — one for me and one for my wife. Let the sweetness commence. 🙂
