Expect deliveries to start in late June and early July for Europe and July 14th for the US. As always check out our extensive coverage of the in the JCW section of the site. (thanks Barrett for the tip)
Looking forward to reading some reviews and comparison tests. Was on the list at the dealer for one of these, but I need to make sure it’s work the extra $$$. My modestly equipped JCW came to about $32,500.
Hi Gabe-
I noticed in your replies to folks in your 4/29 article that you thought non-JCW MINIs might be available for order in Aug/Sept. When I ask the dealers or MINI USA I get no real answers…usually a guess of January. I’m thinking of ordering an ’09 MCS later this summer/fall with the thinking that any minor tweaks in the car might flow through as improvements in the new car vs the ’08s. But if I have to wait until ’09 then I’m less inclined. Can you give us an update on when you think the ’09 S will go live for the order? Many Thanks
I’m in South Africa, my car comes standard with the area kit, front brakes, suspension. Asked for the Recaro seats (hopefully in red, with red interior), carbon fibre roof spoiler, carbon fibre dashboard, R113 18″ wheels, Xenons, Bluetooth, sunroof. I’m waiting on a response to see if all is possible. South Africa does not have it’s allocations yet but I am no. 2 in the queue at my dealer.
Mine started production June 2nd!

Gabe;
Since the JCW are being released as ’09s, is rest the MINI line-up production’09s from here forward too?
Woot, Woot. My JCW has a VIN assigned. Now the slow hard wait gets even worse.
sigh
“July 14” is Mini speak for September.
Paul,
Pretty sure the answer to your question is no. The other 2009 models should follow the “regular” schedule.

AFAIK general 2009 production starts in September, except for convertibles.
Gabe:
When I configured the JCW in the MINIUSA.com, the aerokit I selected had the colorcoded fenders. Is it right or a bug in the website?
Thanks
Woohoo!

South Africa gets aero kit and suspension standard??? That’s a great deal, especially if he means JCW suspension and not SS.
So why do we get screwed?
