The JCW Show! We talk about the Factory JCW, the JCW Challenge Car and I give my thoughts on the R53 vs R56.
See that R/C car up there? Ridemakerz are only making a limited number of them, and they will only be available at the last 2 MTTS events!
Speaking of limited number, Todd is also selling a very limited edition Motoringbadge that is also only available on-site at MTTS. If you want one, you’d better find him early ’cause they go quick!
I got one of those MTTS only badges in a game of chance (thanks Todd). Very nice! I think I might like it a little better than the one you are selling online.
Gabe hasn’t sold his JCW R56 Stage 1 car, yet. Todd will be selling/trading his ’03 CR/W MCS for the new R56 JCW factory car and DB might be getting a Nightfire Red/Silver Cooper Clubman towards the end of the year.
guys, regarding the factory challenge car and Grand-Am:
There is a team running three R53s in Grand-Am Koni Challenge, and they started on pole at Mid Ohio a couple weeks ago. The challenge car would be a great Koni Challenge car, either in ST or GS.
While I fully anticipate having two JCW badged vehicles in my garage sometime in the future, I am going to wait a few months before placing my order. I don’t need a new JCW MINI and with the current economic landscape I think it’s ok to let my desire grow a little. ; )
DB, welcome to the “Brotherhood of the Slushbox”. I am glad that you found the Clubman S auto in Sport mode to be “brilliant” out in the Auto-X course. Your assimilation process has been completed.
Todd, good thinking on your part. This economy absolutely sucks and delaying any big ticket purchase for a while longer is the wisest decision you can make.
It is very depressing to see our country falling in pieces right before our eyes.
Shooting for the end of the year. I think a Clubman S would fill the bill. Lots to happen before that tho, primarily me getting work.
>DB, welcome to the “Brotherhood of the Slushboxâ€.
Easy there big guy. Just because I said it was awesome on the AutoX doesn’t mean I’m going to buy one. Because on the road, the automatic we had in our R56 was complete rubbish. Exactly like driving around with a teenager learning to drive a stick.
What I would like to do get a week long tester with an auto. Not sure I can, but I’m going to give it a shot.
OK Todd is getting his second JCW car. Gabe got rid of his R56 JCW Stage 1 to get a 1 series.
When is DB going to get a new MINI?

If someone can get a JCW Challenge car here and in the Grand-Am series, I think it would be fantastic. I don’t have high hopes, however.
Glad to know that there could be a class for MINIs though.
Thanks for the tip.

Gabe and Todd,
Here is a “tracktest” of the JCW challenge car. The article is in German and does not really say anything new. The price is quoted to be 49.900 Euros.

1 down 2 to go.

Stimulate the economy, Todd. Order as soon as you can. 😉
You know you want to.
DB, I would recommend spending a week with a Clubman S auto, and one that hasn’t been beat up.
My car drives great. Perhaps the program adaptions in yours were a little out of whack?
🙂
Our car was throwing ECU errors, so that might have been part of it. But the Clubman auto, in auto mode, that I drove did the same thing.
Exactly why I want to get a long term tester.
