From our inbox to your computer. Here are the latest R57 MINI convertible spy photos from one of our many sources. While they don’t show too much, this is yet another look at the new exclusive convertible color – Interchange Yellow.
You can read all there is to know about the new MINI drop-top in our R57 section.
A nice color for sure.
Looks to me like a tiny bit darker version of the late Liquid Yellow.
I hated liquid yellow, and this looks just a shade darker.
Thumbs down.
Of all the many color choices, any shade of yellow looks the bad on Minis. Thats just my opinion. Especially with a white roof on a hard top. The blues, reds, and BRG look great, but yellow is drab. You know what color Mini should bring back…..Hyper blue. Best color hands down.
That’s right Josh, it’s just your opinion. I for one, loved my LY/W Cooper and am not a big fan of the Hyper Blue. But that’s just my opinion.
Those black webspokes look the shizzle!
I just noticed the boot hinges are hidden.
I wonder if the roof is identical to the current one – it doesn’t look any different shape … although less creases!
I’m actually surprised at how much it looks like Liquid Yellow. Maybe its just the pics, but I was hoping for something more obnoxious!
I like the yellows…the lot up at the dealership looks pretty bland w/o them. That said, I have trouble telling this from Mellow Yellow. Probably just lighting…can’t wait to see it in person!!
I’ve always coveted Electric Blue (with black). Best color ever.
Still the same MISTAKE : It is absolutely not Interchange Yellow, but the well-known Mellow Yellow
Interchange Yellow will be a sort of Lime Green
Gabe I hope you change your words
The big look for me is now we can see the reverse with a clean look no taped on Hinges
looks like a cellphone picture, so getting a true sense of the color is near impossible. That could be lime green and come across as banana yellow.
r. burns – this is 100% for sure the interchange yellow.
Some official pics of Interchange Yellow have already appeared — the yellow bits on the electric MINI E, and the leaked marketing photos for the R57 (now pulled from MotoringFile but still up on Autoblog). It doesn’t look like lime green, and why would they name a green color “Interchange YELLOW“?
I’m liking the black web spokes!

It’s the same yellow. I’ve had multiple internal sources give me this information. And when you color correct the photos they match-up with the press pics of the MINI E pretty well.
I for one, really like the new Interchange Yellow. IMHO, it is a nice improvement over the too-light Liquid Yellow
I do think the pictures as I see them look pretty close to my LY MINI, but one thing people have found is that yellow is very suceptible to variations in lighting and camera white balance and in this case, also to montitor setup. Without having 2 yellows side by side in teh same picture or with carefully controlled conditions it is impossible to tell just what this looks like.
For those who think LY is boring with a white top, personally, I think all white tops (or any MINI top without a sunroof or roof graphic) are boring after driving mine with a black and white checkered roof every day. Much of it is what you are used to.
yep, first look at the boot without fake hinges — and the rear window does look slightly bigger
>I just noticed the boot hinges are hidden.
We’ve been reporting on the removal of the hinges for over a year now and with these latest articles over the last month it’s nice to see this finally being vindicated.
>I wonder if the roof is identical to the current one – it doesn’t look any different shape … although less creases!
It’s slightly updated.
