For those of you that might have missed the email, MINI United registration is now open.
>Welcome! MINI UNITED is back and this summer we’re throwing an adrenaline soaked birthday party for MINI aficionados from all corners of the globe. Two years ago we took the Dutch canals of Amsterdam by storm. This year we’re going home to where it all started: England. So mod jet setters, get set, it’s off to Silverstone and London we go.
>We know this means you will have to part from your MINI for a few days, but to ease your separation anxiety, MINI USA has put together a package of events exclusively for US participants. All you have to do to be eligible to participate is register through this web site for the MINI USA Exclusive Program. Register today to secure your slot with the yanks as we party in England. *** By registering through the MINI USA registration site there is no need to register at MINIUNITED.com. We will take care of all of that for you!
MINI United is happening May 22- 24 this year and, if you are in the US, MINIUSA has some great things planned.
* Commemorative gifts and goodies
* Friday Night Pub Crawl
* Track lap in a MINI at Silverstone
* Sunday private lunch with Mike Cooper
* MINI CHALLENGE Paddock Hospitality Lounge
* Commemorative Royal Mail stamp of the MINI 50th Anniversary
If you are in the US and planning on going, be sure to register through MINIUSA here. You can get all of the information from the invitation and be sure to keep an eye on miniunited.com for updates.

if i wasn’t in Australia i would be there with you guys, have fun you lot :)

Argh, and I’m going to miss it again…

Think this will be a awesome event, to bad it fell during the global economic meltdown. Still can say that it would be great fun indeed.

I’ll be there!! Without my MINI of course 🙁 Can’t wait!!!!!!!!

I would if I still had a job and money and time to burn for this.

MINI USA does all the cool stuff…MINI Canada could care less about MINI United…If only I had a US mailing addy…

Does MINI have any packages for the US attendees?

All I have to do is get over the guilt of abandoning the Frau with a newborn for a weekend and I’m THERE! Oh, there’s a little matter of the 10 hour drive too, lol.

I’ll be there, too. I’ve registered and am now just counting the days.

@Sideways: Maybe we can contact MINI USA… I did that for MINI United 2007 and they would have given me the hotel deal and entrance to the meet-and-greet dinner on the first night.

It would be REALLY REALLY NICE of them to open it up to NORTH AMERICA. Like, please?!?!?! That would be another example of MINI… well… uniting. ;)

@knightowl: If you click here, most of the information you are looking for is already up. There are still details to be hammered out that you would want to keep an eye on miniunited.com for.

When more details about MINIUSAs involvement come along, we’ll be getting those posted here.

Booger, I’m on holiday in Portugal that weekend….
Can’t they reschedule??????

I was dead set on attending MU this year but we had a change of plans and will be traveling to see Alaska instead on vacation in the coming months. Tried to pull both trips but the schedules simply kept conflicting. I could have gone to the UK for just a weekend, but it is too much of a long trip (and expensive, although the Dollar/Pound exchange rate is much better now of what it was last year) just to go 3 days and spent 2 on the plane. If I go back to Europe I want to spend up there at least a week to do some sightseeing missed in the previous 2 trips.

I will happily wait another 2 years for the next MU. By then my son will be 5 years old and I am sure he’ll have a blast being in the midst of hundreds of MINIs.

Going and touring the plant on the Friday before. Sweet!
