It’s been years in the making but a special edition MINI co-developed by MINI Yours and Rolls Royce will be unveiled next month. We’ve held information on the car close to the vest for quite awhile but with the recent leak of the debut date (the Shanghai Auto Show) we thought it appropriate to give you a little tease.
The full name will be the Goodwood Bespoke and it will feature leather and wood pretty much everywhere. The image above (from an early prototype taken back in 2008) shows the Ming Blue exterior but don’t expect the factory aerokit to remain.
Look for the Goodwood Bespoke to be available worldwide later this year. Pricing? If you have to ask… We’ll lets just say that it will be the most expensive MINI ever. Even more so than the $41,000 WC50.

Is this a case of “if you build it they will come” or “there’s a fool born every day”?

Anyway, I hope that it’s a nice car, for the price, it should be!

Matt

i’m sure it’s will be a nice edition but if it’s going to be more than 41,000 it should at least have the navigation system included, according to the picture (unless it’s not complete yet) it seems to have the same kind of speedometer as my dads S

To quote H. L. Mencken, “No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.”

Just in time too. Prince William was having a difficult time finding that perfect gift for Kate :)

Not sure where he saw the “Ming Blue exterior” unless it was reflected off of the storage racks in the photo?!?!

Curious though: will it be badged as a MINI or a Rolls? I can’t see it under the MINI name because it would be the VW Phaeton all over again…

The photos are from a rough prototype.

Loving the black instruments. If that armrest top would be hinged instead of sliding $41,000 would be too cheap for this car.

bespoke adj made to individual order; custom-made

So how is this car any more “bespoke” than an ordinary MINI with options, colours, etc. selected by the buyer? It actually sounds like the opposite of “bespoke” in that all of these cars will be identically configured, like the GP or WC50, right down to paint and interior colours. There will be nothing individual or unique about them.

BMW, if you are going to throw around fancy-sounding British words in your MINI marketing, at least use them properly…

Maybe there will be only one! ;)

Matt

They can give us all these “Special Editions” with colors, leather and add ons but why can’t they give us something with LOTS more speed? That would sell way better!!!!!!

Prototype still looks sweet 3 yrs later. I understand the factory aero for the S will no longer work, JCW aero only now, but for 41k it will be interesting to see if the unpainted plastic will disappear.

If we know RR , it will come with sheepskin floor-mats. I heard it was on its way. So would power seats be on the menu? Leather headliner and leather sun-visors will be a must.

Wondering if the first lucky owners will be able to resist the urge to Mod it?

Will it have all the available interior surfaces in English oak finish like old VandenPlas and Rolls models? The best of free-range cow-hide leather?
There is another old english saying – “a mug walks around every corner”.
Just the thing for Emirates Princes’ to learn how to drive.

Luxury Mini’s are also part of the classic Mini heritage, remember the Radford and Wood & Pickett bespoke luxury Mini’s of the 1960’s amd 70’s? Even the Beatles owned one each!
