MINI came to LA with a lot to show-off. The new Citysurfer concept, the US debut of the Superleggera concept and the US debut of the new four door hatch. They also had a few interesting things to say as well. Check it out after the break.

Must say it is great to hear Anders Warming embracing the design of the MINI SuperLeggera Concept, and highlighting the fact that it has “subtle details” and “no superfluous lines” as well as “classic Mini” elements on the interior.

We had these qualities in the R50/R53 design. These are traits which drew many of us to the MINI brand in the first place.

It’s very far from being the best press conference I’ve seen from the brand. David and Peter must improve their public speaking skills (they sound too rehearsed), while Anders is definitely more natural and engaged. It’s the last address of the day and it makes me want to hang myself.

Also I don’t know if it’s the layout of the entire auto show or if MINI USA doesn’t have enough budget, but the area dedicated to the Superleggera is quite sad especially for such a beautiful creation. What a waste…

Lot of complaints here, but given the very bumpy year they had, they could have done better job for their public appearance of 2014.

Gabe…just got a note from my MINI sales person here in Fl that he’s heard that the ‘ordered’ F55’s at the U.S port are being released to the dealers, but not the lot inventory F55’s. They may still be held at the port until Jan. My Nov 3 order of an F55S was built on Nov 14 & is still awaiting transport to the U.S.

Have you heard any info to the effect that ‘ordered’ F55’s are now beginning to be released to the dealers to arrived & be delivered in Dec instead of Jan??

Great. They should get around to building this right after they get the electric scooter that we might actually buy into production.
