We’ll be honest. What you see above could very well be our favorite MINI. We’ve been smitten for over 10,000 miles with our long term Clubman Cooper S. The only thing it really needs is more power, a sharper throttle response, and maybe All4 with winter upon us. Enter the JCW Clubman with All4 and 228 HP (and 258 ft lbs of torque).
The JCW Clubman is hitting dealers worldwide as we speak and as a celebration of that occasion we’re dropping over 50 new photos and a few videos of the car doing what it does best – frolicking in the snow.

Somewhat of a confusing review. A lot of it seems to be based on opinions of the F56 and previous versions of the F54 that don’t really resonate with me and my experience with them. The conclusions reached are also surprise and frankly not that well thought out. Just an odd review overall.

I would suggest that they are not far off the mark.
Think about it … more weight, modest power and a part time awd system.
They feel that the price is out of line and the JCW branding is reminding me of how BMW sticks a M on everything and MB has pseudo AMG vehicles.
In the USA, it will price out in the same range as a Golf R and not have anywhere near the performance or ability.

You are right that the toughest competition for the JCW Clubman comes from the Golf R, which from today has become tougher still with the news that the face lifted 2017 Golf R now develops 310hp and 295lb ft torque, making it the quickest variant of VW’s best selling Hatchback ever sold.

Back in September, Autocar reviewed the Clubman Cooper S All4, and awarded it 3.5 stars, compared to 2.5 stars for the JCW. Click on the link for the full review.
