Tons of new options and the inclusion of the new 301 hp JCW Countryman and Clubman. Have at it at MINIUSA And let us know what you build in the comments.

Will have to wait a little longer I guess. I just tried to configure a hardtop and the only transmission choice is the dual clutch steptronic. Which as far as I know is incorrect, a manual transmission still should be available

On a Posting here on MF on May 24th Gabe did report that some MINI models would lose the manual option permanently–the 2dr and 4 dr hardtop were NOT supposed to lose that option. The article did mention that Manuals might not be available until July 2020 due to certification issues??? So I guess the configurator is correct right now but I expect the manual option to return later at some point next year. My plan is to wait until 2021 and buy a 4dr hardtop with a manual

I was told by a training rep from MINI that it would be a miracle if the manual returned to the market before April. Should be available for 2021.

The pricing of the JCW Clubman is difficult for me to digest. I can’t seem to go less than 47k. Where when bought mine you could save by selecting cloth for savings now you save nothing with that selection. I wish mine had the newfound power and CarPlay but otherwise I’ve quite happy to have mine with a clutch pedal despite its lesser horsepower figure.

in the same boat, their packaging of options makes it easy to just go full tilt on it. My build came in at 48k when my 17 JCW was 40-ish. Can’t say the extra 8k is worth the power and leather the new car would bring.

Even worse, I would prefer Cloth JCW seats but still get to pay for leather. Mine stickered at 41 as a 17 and they had $3500 in incentives.

I think the trim levels are terrible in general. I miss the completely a la carte ordering of the past, or the simple discounts you got for the 3 packages they offered. I blame the dealers who couldn’t figure out what to order, and the product planners who couldn’t put together options that make sense for most people. I worked with Product Planner/Managers at GM in the past and they just didn’t use common sense on anything. MINI isn’t faring much better it seems to me.

A few days ago after MF noted the configurator for 2020 was updated, I did a build on the 2020 JCW Countryman and, I also sent it to my ‘new’ dealership. Since I went for the top 3rd tier along with some minor added options topping out about 51-52K,

I’m not sure if all items are accurate, especially the seats (red trim shown (which I really like) and perhaps a few other included items within the 3 tiers that somehow needed to be selected as additional cost options. Why?When I visit the dealer within the next few weeks (am currently on a road trip), hopefully, everything will be ironed out when we review my selections together.

Although it has been over a week since the miniusa configurator was updated to the 2020 models, it appears many features still have not updated such as stats (228 hp instead of updated 301 hp for the JCW Countryman), items that are inclusive among the 3 tier selections are shown as added cost when needed to be selected, red seated trim on JCW seats which supposedly was noted earlier to be discontinued for the 2020 models, current side mirrors instead of updated ones, etc. Just wondering…..

Ah interesting. Can I order one from you? Which MINI dealership do you work at?

I work for the dealership in Virginia Beach, VA. Not sure how far away that is from you. Let me know if thats too far away.

Gabe, will the 2020 Hardtop, 2dr & 4dr have a manual option at antime during the 2020 model year?? If not is it scheduled to return in 2021?
