MINI is set pay homage to its rally history by releasing a special edition F55 and F56 Paddy Hopkirk Special Edition. The special edition is comprised of a handful of key options set to differentiate it from a standard Cooper S with new trim, graphics and badging.
Outside the car will be finished in Chili Red/White along with black Track Spoke wheels, black trim, hood scoop, badging and door handles. The 37 (paying homage to the famous rally car) and badging are the main adds. It’s an interesting take on a very similar special edition – the 2003 MC40.
Inside it’s unknown what MINI will add but we’d expect a throw-back design with corresponding badging.
The Paddy Hopkirk Edition MINI will be released in October/November in both the F55 five door and F56 three door variants. It’s unclear when or if we’ll see the Paddy Hopkirk Edition MINI in the US.
Problem with these special editions is that they are always missing a standard feature. Previous special editions were missing the drive mode toggle and auto dimming mirrors.
