This seems to be our first practical look at the amount of cargo ares behind the back seats when raised. Looks like about 2′ or so. Also, the cargo area cover was another thing I was wondering about…glad to see there is one.
Interesting, look forward to seeing it in person. Think they have caught the spirit of the original fairly well. One thing that kinda bugged me though was the outside video of the car setting the view of the exhaust tip stands out aat a lower inspection fo the car, noting to bad though.
That’s the maximum the clubman door opens? You could get trapped in a parking lot like you can with crew cab pickups. I’m still not liking the no-trim rear lights. And why one backup light? That’s not just an indicator, those lights are supposed to provide illumination so you can see obstructions.
Thanks for posting this. I’m growing more fond of the design the more angles I see of it. While it might not quite be for me, I have other family members that are looking forward to purchasing one.
Now it they could just do something about that center stack …
Looked like there were two DSC off buttons? A “DSC off” on the right and a DSC Triangle image off in the middle. Whats up with that is that suppose to be like DTC so you can give the clubman a little more play?
One rear reverse light and one rear fog is common in europe on other cars. Which probably means that they will both be reverse in the US, and therefore likely no rear fog option for the US.
David S. the rear barn doors have gas filled struts for “easy” opening. They are not motorized. I would like to see a “one touch” automatic feature to close them like in some SUVs and Minivans.

Encouraging….

Odd, one backup light?

The 02-04 MINI’s only had one back up light. I wonder if US spec cars will have the same lighting setup. I like the rear fog on the left rear.
So wait … rear left is fog light and rear right is backup? … strange but kind of cool.
so the array under the rear lights will be just a “reflector”?
I loving the Clubman even more. Great car and look forward to a test drive.
Aurel, Classic Mini Clubmans have the rear fog light mounted low in the left left bumper and the back up light on the right side.
I think this is a nod to the past. 🙂

Automatic Rear Door opening? Now that would be cool.
One touch rear door closing would be a nice feature, too…

That button is for the engine auto stop I do believe!
Finally, a question that’s been on everyone’s mind has been answered.
I generally like it, but I hate the silver or black trim down the back. I guess I’ll have to wait a year or two until they fix that issue. 🙂
Looks good from here.

But will it flat tow my classic Mini to shows?
Now wait a dang minute.
In the 2nd video it shows the barn doors “soft opening” all by themselves.
If that’s a remote feature, I am Over. The. Moon.
And I 2nd Josh’s comment: in the UK, one rear fog and one white reverse light is the MOT requirement.
You see a lot of American cars retrofitted with white taillights to pass the MOT there.
