MTTS Questions - You Ask, We Ask

mtts_white.jpg So, here’s the deal. We want to make sure we get all of your questions asked next time we talk with Gina Koutros from MINI USA. I could go through all of the MTTS posts at 3 different sites, plus 2 different folders on my inbox. If we did that, there is a really good chance that we would miss at least one of the questions, and it would have been the one that you wanted answered.

Instead use the comments below to ask away! Please keep the questions about MTTS Miami, Boston, the road trip in between, Chicago or LA and we will do what we can to get them answered.

Are they gonna have any of the JCW Cars there for us to touch, feel and drive? Any other “special” cars there for us to see?

Jon May 24th, 2008 Link

Very cool idea Dennis, would be cool if they could get the JCW factory car to the events.

Max May 24th, 2008 Link

Any info concerning food?

Kevin May 24th, 2008 Link

Chicago: Will there be a set route from Chicago Lincoln Park to the site in Wisconsin, or will it be a free-for-all? ie, leave at this time and it starts at that time, or will we do a convoy for the road trip?

Bob May 24th, 2008 Link

At MTTS Boston, will food be available for purchase at
the F1 Boston site in Braintree, MA on Friday night, and at the UMass Boston site in Dorchester, MA on Saturday?

magic95vert May 24th, 2008 Link

Will non-owners attending with owners be allowed to attend owner only events?

peter314 May 24th, 2008 Link

If we cant make it to the first day MTTS, in my case boston, but do register online and come to the second day will i still/can get my coveted “goodie bag” ??, i have Iron Maiden tickets i bought a while before any details about MTTS Boston were released and the show starts at 7:30, the same time as the Owners meet and greet at F1 boston…which is sooooo annoying because I love F1 boston but its wicked expensive, and im going to assume that MINI has rented out the place for the night and all races are included with the registration fee. which is another question in its self.

steve h May 24th, 2008 Link

What vendors will be there?
What is this goodie bag?
Is it a good place to bring the kids?
Do we need to get them a ticket?

Is there a difference between being an owner and shopper?

Is it better to take there car around the track or should I use mine?

Vanwall May 24th, 2008 Link

Why no Rauno Aaltonen or Timo Mäkinen or Paddy Hopkirk in LA? :(

Bob H. May 24th, 2008 Link

Hmmmmm, Paddy Hopkirk…. a name from the past; seems to me I bought an aluminum gas pedal cover with his name on it at some point…

Leslie May 25th, 2008 Link

How do you register for the “Future Mini Owners Adrenaline Drive” on Saturday @ Boston?

It says on the MTTS site that you must pre-register online for this event, but no link is there, and after searching I can not find any more information…

Thank you!

Jimskater May 25th, 2008 Link

I’m another one with pre-existing concert plans the night before. I’ll be driving up on Saturday morning to LA. How do I get my registration sorted & lay my hands on my goodie bag?

DB May 25th, 2008 Link

Great questions gang! Keep ‘em coming! We will be talking with Gina sometime early next week I believe.

Roccorocket May 25th, 2008 Link

CHICAGO, I have 2 MINI’s and I’ve registered 2 people. Are you expecting one car per registration.
Is there a limit per household?

My son has a MINI Convert, pedal car, but still a mini.

TSizemore3 May 25th, 2008 Link

Miami - For those of us that ARE already MINI owners and will be participating in the owners only events, will there still be an opportunity to drive some of the new models of MINI like the Clubman, MCS, and JCW cars?

Second - Will coolers be allowed on site at Bicentennial Park and Homestead Speedway? As hot as I think it’s going to be, keeping a cooler full of water and Gatoraide would be helpful to a lot of people. At MTTS 2006 this wasn’t as much as a factor as for a good bit of the time you were either in or near your car, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit of a hike to get back and forth to your car and the event area.

MCSDCWGP06 May 25th, 2008 Link

Are dogs, leashed of course, welcome outdoor at any event of any venue?

Chicago, you got so lucky to get Blues Traveller, so lucky!

Will MINI USA personnel be easily identified and or introduced to the masses?

cheers

MSCLBMN May 26th, 2008 Link

As a future owner attending the Miami event, will we have a chance to pick from all three (four, counting the JCW) models for the Adrenaline Drive (and a choice between manual and auto)?

MSCLBMN May 26th, 2008 Link

Leslie,

If you go the link below and select Register Now, you will have the option to sign-up for you driving time after indicating you are a “Future MINI Owner”

Good Luck

I have two questions:

1:For the rally from Florida to Boston will there be and designated stop points beside the night time sleep over? I live in CT and you guys will be driving thru my state, so wondering if I can tag along assuming you will stop for lunch or break some place where I can meet up?

2: Do you know of any dealer willing to load out Mini to non-mini owners to drive up to MTTS or is anyone aware of any rental places that rent out Mini?

jsc May 26th, 2008 Link

As much as I would love to drive the JCW “Factory”, I am more interested in asking if someone from MINI is going to be available to answer some of my questions. Such as, why does the “Factory” need a dealer to install the JCW aero parts and JCW suspension? If the they are serious about the a la cart menu business, when am I going to be able to order what I want and leave out the parts I don’t? What is the rational for the different sets of parts and options in different markets? Based on the internet traffic, do they think they read this market correctly? And so on…

Better jump on the hotels left for road America, the ones that are close are sold out or jumped the prices too much.

Larry Taylor May 26th, 2008 Link

Will there be a contest to go backstage and meet Michelle Branch? She’s hot!

JK!

I would like a little better explanation of each event..the website is a little vague on each event. Thanks!

Brian May 26th, 2008 Link

2 owners, One car. Possible?

Mowse May 27th, 2008 Link

Lots of run for MTTS this year. Nothing on the dragon. I know you guys couldn’t make it this year but perhaps a “guest” review of the Super Bowl of Mini events? Too big to be forgotten IMO.

TNCRMPT May 28th, 2008 Link

How many people have signed up for each site (as opposed to a combined total of all 4 sites)?

Will people traveling to the Chicago site be advised that they should actually be booking a hotel on Friday evening in Chicago, and then somewhere between Milwaukee and Sheboygan on Saturday?
