According to Ian Culls MINI Blog MINIUSA has issued a parts bulletin (# M 63 02 03) for the Rear Foglights. You can check out the actual bulletin below by clicking on the images:
Thanks Ian for breaking this news! It's worth noting that as of Friday dealers should have the update CD35 which is required for this retrofit. Lets also hope that there are other enhancements for MINI software in this update.

BTW you can check out the kit in action here.

still no word as to the compatibility of the rear fogs with the brake light mod?

thanks,
S-

FYI if you want this kit cheap and don't have a MINI Club discount at your local dealer check out this thread on MCO

If you look on MCO and mini2 there are people who have received the 35 update and have said the stumble issue is improved… we'll see

I will check again with MINI Peabody tomorrow; apparently the release of a new CD is not instantly to every dealership?!

And just to note: the rear fog photo linked to by Gabe is the diagnostic test, and not the new rear fogs – I don't know if both will be turned on in USA, or only one.

Thats a very good point Ian. I had thought it was only one but I guess we'll soon find out. Nice car btw :)

I think my dealer's hourly labor rate is $95, so according to the Service Bulletin, it will only take half an hour to install the new toggle switch and perform the reprogramming of the body control module.

So it will be $75 for the rear fogs and $47.50 for the installation, works out to $122.50. Not bad at all. It will be $22.50 more expensive than waiting around for a December build with factory install rear fogs for $100.

Someone should call the RI BMW/MINI Dealer in Warwick and let them know. I just had a quote for well over $600.00 installed……for a 2 Hr Book Rate JOB ? Whats up with that ?
