A long time ago on a far-away MINI forum, great words were written:
I was thinking how fun would it be to do a Mini Trek to Mt. Washington [New Hampshire]. To get a group of Mini's together to drive up to the top of the Mountain …
From that, MINIsOnTop 2003 came to life, and 70 MINIs met & drove up the Mount Washington Auto Road on June 21, 2003:
One year later, MINIsOnTop 2004 brought 160 MINIs together:
Now MINIsOnTop 2005 is expected to see more than 200 MINIs attend, meeting On Saturday June 18 at Loon Mountain,
caravanning along the Kancamagus Highway, BBQ & prizes at the base of Mount Washington, and finally a drive to the top to watch the sunset (weather permitting!)
MINIsOnTop is a meet & greet event; there is no fast driving, very few tight turns but loads of friendly faces; the perfect opportunity to meet people you only know by screen name, and check out their MINIs!
Costs include food and auto road tolls (estimated $40 per person) and the essential MINIsOnTop T-shirt and car decals;
if you are interested, be sure to pre-register before the deadline this weekend!

Impatiently waiting for the official registration form! Can't wait to go again this year.

That is seriously awesome, too bad I live in AZ. I don't think many modern cars bring people together the way MINIs do.

MINIs showed up from as far away as Georgia last year, maybe AZ is a bit further but might just be worth it!

Should be noted that there is a limit to 200 on top of mt washington, however plenty more are welcome to join in on the many other events of the day.

The auto road is truly the best motoring route I have been on.

Too bad it's scheduled on the same weekend as the US Grand Prix. A drive to NH from Indiana might be fun.

Last year even MINI USA showed up with a brand new convertible for us to drool over. Ian even got Mike Cooper (owner of John Cooper Works, Ltd.) involved; he donated a wonderful lithograph of the '64 Monte Carlo Mini which was signed by Mike and Paddy Hopkirk.

This is one hell of a good time with terrific people in one of the most scenic places in the Northeast. It's worth the drive (even from AZ!).

Theo

We are taking over.

Wow. Looks like my fisrt Mini event…what to wear, what to bring.

Michael boice –

Bring a jacket. A warm one. Really. I'm not kidding. It was frigid on top of the mountain with the 70mph winds (90+ mph gusts) at MOT2004. Long pants are a good idea too. I'm the only nitwit wearing shorts in all the pictures.

Yes, but it was a DRY wind…

Short of the Hudson Bay trip, this Feb., MOT is probably the most fun you'll have at a MINI event. I'm anxiously looking forward to my third one.

So, I should leave my dixie cups at home? 70mph, yikes!

I missed pre-registration. Is there any more room? I wanna go. Who can I contact specifically?

Thanks, Jon

This event was a blast! Much respect to those who worked their butts off to get this to go. MASSIVE RESPECT DUE to the Mt. Washington Auto road crew for letting us up amid bad visibility and rough road conditions. They almost didn’t let us go, but were able to get the roads dried up enough just in time. Thanks again!
