As a new monthly feature for 2006 we’re going to be highlighting special deals offered to MotoringFile readers by our advertisers. Here’s our first:
The fine folks at Knauz MINI have another special for MotoringFile readers. This time they’re looking to blow-out a few in-stock aero kits. They have both MC and MCS kits in stock (without PDC) and are offering them to MF readers installed and painted for only $1500. This deal is only available at Knauz (located 30 minutes north of Chicago) so it is somewhat limited to people that can actually make it to the dealer. Give the Knauz Parts counter a call at 847.604.5050 and ask for the MotoringFile Aero Kit special.
It’s a relief I live so far from Chicago as it leaves me as far from temptation as well. Thanks for the offer, Knauz!
Does the aerodynamic improvement outweigh the weight gain?
Doubtful. I think this is meant to be a purely cosmetic mod. Although I could be wrong.
Oh great!!!! Now I have to decide if I need to run to Chicago???? 😉
Well, y’all do have a good art muesum I want to see… any deals coming on a JCK engine kit? That would seal the trip! 😉
Doug, give Knauz a call at 847.604.5050 and ask for Glenn. Let him know I sent you and you’re a MotoringFile reader and I would bet he could work something out for you.
MINI of Peabody had one MC aero kit, Chili Red, for $700! Don’t know if it is sold yet.
I purchased some MINI Slippers and a mug from Glen Ogle over the web. Delivery was a bit slow but well worth the wait. I forgot to say I was a MF member which apparently means you could get a discount. Good to do business with. As well Charles Berthon at Long Beach MINI in Newport CA is a switched on business guy – to quote him “he can sniff a deal” for MINI fans and owners.
I think the MC aero kit’s sharper than the MCS one. I wonder if there’s anything keeping it from being installed on an MCS? I shouldn’t be asking these questions; an aero kit is not in my budget for the year!
What is “PDC”?
Donna – PDC is Parking Distance Control. In other words the little sensors on the rear bumper that beep when you’re about to hit something. It’s optional on hard tops and standard on convertibles.
The Aero Kit is growing on me. But I am over 1,500 miles away from Knauz!
