Imagine if MINI created a site that allowed easy access to all of it’s commercials, video clips, screensavers, etc. Now imagine the time you’d waste surfing it. Oh wait, you don
t have to imagine…
At the same time I have one minor complaint. The only way I can figure out to reload the movie download gallery and download another movie after downloading a previous one is to reload the entire download gallery which takes awhile. Is there a better way to do it? Why no back button?
Bob, there’s an X in the lower right hand corner of the video screen. Click that and it will take you back to the movie gallery.
Go to the ringtones and phone backgrounds page. They’re all FREE and do work on US phones. When you put your number in, just be sure to put a + in front of it.
Three cheers for dear ol’ BMW for resurrecting these classic Mini commercials and promotional films. What fun…and far too good to languish in a vault somewhere. As custodians of the brand, I hope BMW continues to keep the flame alive, for new MINI and old. To have breathed life and energy back into such a worthy brand is quite an accomplishment when you think of the state of things in the late 90s.
Verizon tries to force you to only buy from their approved vendors for ringtones and wallpaper so they get a cut. They are so mercenary they even cripple their phones so that you can’t download them to your computer and then transfer to your phone’s memory via Bluetouth or a sync cable.
There are many ways around Get It Now… but you have to do research and be willing to “modify” your phone (programatically) to make it happen. (After which of course Verizon may not honor your phone’s warranty).
The one exception (without breaking VZW rules) is the phones that come with TransFlash, so you can transfer movies and pictures (but not ringtones – VZW made sure to block that) simply by putting them on a transflash card using your PC (and the TF-supplied SD adapter). Two examples of VZW phones that have this feature are the Motorola V710 and E815.
LTZMTOR, depending on where you live, it probably won’t matter… on average, VZW has the best service. That’s why they have some of the stingiest policies… because they can get away with it. Many people (including me) won’t leave them because the other services suck by comparison. However, some people (Gabe included) have been happy with other companies in their home area.
I can’t seem to get anything to download to my phone. I’ve put in all the variations of my phone number I can think of and nothing is sent to my Motorola phone (cingular service).
Oh well…pretty neat stuff anyway.
THAT is very, very awesome!

Now imagine if the site was highly accessible and web standards compliant, instead of hard-to-use Flash…
Ok, there you still have to imagine.
Thanks for the link. Now I have a whole new set of clean GP pics for my desktop.

So if I switch from Verizon who do I go to? AT&T, Cingular, US Cellular?

Thanks for the info. I guess switching services just so I can have a MINI logo on my phone is kinda lame.
I did send a email to MINI/USA’s Customer “Service” but no reply yet.

Has anybody got a direct download from MINI with any of the offered stuff on his mobile, in the USA?
I had sent an inquiry to MINI about downloads this morning I got this from them:
Dear Giacomo Balladini,
Thank you for your e-mail.
We have forwarded your request to the relevant department for assessment. You will be contacted shortly.
Kind Regards,
MINI Service Team
Now there is some corporate babble.
