SCCA Solo Nationals started in Topeka Kansas on Tuesday.  The autocross nationals run through Friday, with some classes competing on Tuesday and Wednesday and the remainder competing on Thursday and Friday. Each class will run on both the East and West course and the best time each driver has from each couse will be used to determine the overall placing.ÂÂÂ
In the first two days of competition, the only MINI entries competing were in G-Stock (SCCA class that the stock MCS competes in).ÂÂÂ
G-Stock
The results for both the East and the West course are now in for G-stock. MINIs took the top 7 spots, 10 of the 11 trophies, and 23 of the top 24 spots in the class of 38 drivers. Congratulations to all.

Sweet sweep!
Will this be televised?
Sounds like the good old days! Way to go!
Heh. Good job MINI… I guess. I looked at the full race results and both classes were almost completely composed of MINIs. A lonely Nissan SE-R managed to break the top 10 in G-Stock and the next car that isn’t a MINI is in position 24. Of the 38 entrants, 27 were MINIs.
The ten entrants in G stock ladies were MINIs with one exception, and a marvelous exception it is: a 1965 Lotus Elan.
It almost seems like MINI has become the Ken/Ryu of the G stock class. In the arcade days of Street Fighter, the best players always were Ken or Ryu. All the newer and less experienced players would start playing Ken or Ryu with the hopes of competing and a chance at the win. It appears the MINI Cooper S is the Ken/Ryu of G stock. Since you can’t beat MINIs in the class, you might as well drive one and hope for the win. 😀
eto: I have a feeling the H-stock field may be stacked the same way tomorrow when we get a look at the first round results.
Anyone know if Mark Chiles is still running a MINI? I didn’t see him in any of the results.
