MINI Press Release: Production of the new generation of MINI at the Oxford plant is running at full speed. This vehicle — the world’s most successful small car in the premium segment — has been available on European markets since November last year. At the moment, dealers in the overseas markets are also being supplied with the new MINI. In its largest market in terms of volume, the USA, MINI will thus only be launched in February. This means that MINI sales in January, at 13,622 automobiles delivered, are still 12.3% below the figure for the same month last year (15,540). For the year 2007 as a whole, the company is planning to break the sales record of 200,428 vehicles delivered in 2005.
The line speed at Plant Oxford has gone up again! To meet demand for vehicles all over the world, especially the US market, the line speed has risen to 48 vehicles per hour.
Just to put it into perspective – 3 years ago we were only running at 38 cars per hour!! So lets hope we can meet demand and smash that glass ceiling figure of 200,000.

Yeah mini sales should suck this month too for all the people that got hit by the multi function steering wheel problem.
Hahah. Can’t tell I’m bitter can you? New production date is 2.19 the same date that the boat will be docking in California. How ironic.
Does every car have a multifunction steering wheel? Probably not.
The new car is worth waiting for and gives more bang for your buck.
High demand and low volumes means high residual values.
Chrysler PT Cruiser took from 2000 until 3/2006 to hit the 1,000,000th car from Toluca.
Well duh? Who would buy an ’06 with the AWESOME ’07 out soon. I know, the hard core folks. They’re sell the last of the ’06s here in Cleveland at $500 over invoice. I’m half tempted to get a JCW MCSC!
They’re under MSRP in Chicago.
WOW! Very tempting
