Frank – I guessing your joking but for those that might have missed it when it was mentioned earlier:
The reason the R53 was used in the Hammer and Coop episodes is that, at the time, there was only one R56 available for filming. Obviously if something had happened to it there would have been a serious disruption in the filming schedule and H&C might not have launched in time.
Very cool, even though drifting is one of the silliest motorskills that anybody ever come up with imo. Still lots of very talented driving and glad to see the mini finished the comercial on a high point.
i’ve got the bridgestone potenza REO50A, RFTs on my cooper S. awesome and fun to drive. good alternatives to the OEM dunlop sports, if you want to mix it up a bit. never felt more confident.
i saw this commercial on TV and it was amazing. its funny too because i drift a 1994 Ford Escort and i have a full set of Bridgestones Potenza’s on it. I Wish they showed some normal cars that most people have like Civic’s and Mustangs. Awesome commercial though. Bridgestone really outdid themselves this time. They make a great tire and follow it up with a great commercial.
I like that alot.
I thought Bridgestones were supposed to get good grip…
Cheers to that MINI driver, though- that’s some skills there!
I saw that last night on tv. Very nice driving by all but the MINI makes the commercial.
awesome commercial!
That was pretty cool 😉
“Our tires have no traction and slide all over the place” is the message that is technically saying.
But yes it is a lot of fun to watch.
At least the R53 can do its own stunts without “doubles”, unlike the R56…ahem….

Tongue in cheek 😉
But appreciate the explanation…
I still owe you a hug.
The 350z drifting part was really cool!

What’s up with that MINI having convertible sport package wheels?
Just an observation. Ha!
Outside the US they’re simply an option on all MINIs and not exclusive to the convertible.
whats the music
cough, Hyper Blue, cough*
