Well, maybe I’ll get an R60 to replace my 06 R53… This is certainly out of the quesiton, lol. (SHORT MULLET! hahahha)

But honestly if you see this thing passing you at midnight on the NJ Parkway would you go “Wow what is that?!” or “Seriously..?” We really need a poll here! :P

Looks kinda like laguna seca blue that used to be on M cars. I really think this car looks better in the pchop you guys did with the dark grey and dark grey/black roof.

The jcw version needs to come with the jcw suspension. Let’s just get that out of the way.

ACV30 had a better, more harmoneous look overall. The stronger, more exaggerated beltline of this car is working against those very complex roof lines, especially in profile.

I’m really torn between the R60,the Coopster, and the Speedster,as a replacement to my beloved,’03MC,”SADE”(had to sell her to bankroll my lifelong dream…My own business).

Why? The R60 will have all-wheel drive, with the option of a diesel engine. The Coopster is just like the line from the Rolling Stones Movie,”…so ugly that it’s appealing…”. As for the Speedster. I have always wanted a 2-seater,drop-top.

…And by the way: “HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY,MINI!!!

The car has sex written on it.
Been seeing some people complaining about the whole 2 seat mumbo jumbo. And this is coming from the same people who do a rear seat delete kit. Yeh….

This coupe will sure be appealing to cops though… My clubby is enough of a target… =(

I really like this car, and I will always get a black roof option so I think it’ll look better. Maybe if the B Pillar is also same color as the roof it might be acceptable in different color. Now when are we going to see the speedster option?!

Also is it just me or is that door/window design similar to how the Z4 is?

Great review of the Coopster guys. Totally agree with Gabe that this is a very interesting development and for me only the coupe works as I have not much love for convertibles.

I like it! I would consider an MCS Coopster if the price is right. I just would hate to give up the practicality of my R53 MCS though. Any hints on pricing yet?

There is no real appeal in the design of the rear of the car. It disjointed by the lack of flow.
Is this the roof line and rear end that will go to production?

Flash was the fast guy in comic books, he had wings on his somewhat fem hood on his head.

Flash Gordon is the blonde dude in comics and cartoons, he has no wing, no head gear, nor speed.

Mercury is the speedy God of travel, of Greek origin( I am not sure of the origin.) Mercury is usually depicted in sculptures with an aerodynamic helmet with wings. (He also has wings on his feet). The roof of the concept car reminds me most of mercury’s helmet.

Not sure about the roof really. I have had a go at some photoshop work on the roof, see what you think and let me know. It is the 1st pic, the 2nd and 3rd are only a change of colour.

I really like the change you made! I love the new car, but I’m having a hard time understanding the kink in the roofline. It’s understandable in the R60 to use it to lower the apparent height of the roof and make a taller car seem shorter than it is, but to do the same thing to an already lowered roof seems a bit weird. Your fix seems more along the lines of the parallel, “floating” roofline in the current coupe.

Is it just me, or does MINI have a real problem with designing practical windows for their blind spots? First the R52, then the R56, now the R60 and Coopster. What’s with the liiiitle, tiny quarter windows?!

So, if this is what we’ll see in production, will it have the interior shown, or the mid-cycle refresh?

Flash Gordon? Maybe you mean Mercury’s helmet? Then I agree.

I like the car a lot. Any word on a convertible?

The “Coopster” is not a good name. Sounds like a person, ie “the Jokester”, “the Hoopster”, “the Prankster” – Get rid of that terrible name.

I’m calling it the Coupee. If I didn’t have a wife and kids, I’d be all over this.

The MINI Coupe.

The MINI FJ

Appalling.

Happy Birthday Mini? With this abomination, BMW have just driven a tank through the Birthday cake – shame on them.
