Finally what you have been asking begging for! Some details for MTTS. This update applies to Denver the weekend of the event, not for any of the routes. Now, before you start firing off in the comments, we are told that we will have any more details early next week that _should_ apply to the routes getting into Denver.
MTTS Release. Denver, Colorado, also known as the ‘Mile High City’, stands between the American West and the Great Plains, close to the famous Rocky Mountains. The city of Denver is a friendly metropolis, with numerous tree-lined boulevards, more than 200 city parks and striking architecture, ranging from historic buildings to breathtaking, modern skyscrapers.
For this year’s MINI TAKES THE STATES, all roads lead to Denver.

Thanks for keeping us updated. And I was just about to ask if there would be route information in the future. Thanks DB! Getting excited already!

Boy, I certainly hope there will be more info, like drives, etc. Otherwise, MTTS will mainly be about getting there ;)

Thanks for the update DB.

We are confident that we will be providing more details in approximately 1 weeks time. It’s a matter of crossing i’s and dotting t’s.

Looking forward to the next week then DB. Thanks for passing the info along as you get it.

Thanks for the update, as for the route details… In the immortal words of Veruca Salt, “I want it NOW!” ;).

Booked!

70 miles from Winter Park & MITM site. Thanks for the info DB.

@James If MINI USA is serious about its purported collaboration with MINI5280 and MITM, the Denver event SHOULD be mainly about just getting there.

It will be interesting to see times attached to the candidate MTTS activities to see if there is synergy with MITM. If they are not intentional with their planning, I predict that there will be a large exodus of MINIs from Denver on Friday and Saturday mornings (including me) all headed up to join in one of the multiple great driving routes offered by MITM. Any middle-of-the-day MTTS events could end up with a disappointing level of participation (from MINI USA’s perspective) since a large segment will be up enjoying the mountain twisties.

BTW, how are the traditional MITM vendors planning to split their time between the two venues?

Ok, so there appears to be no synergy at all with MITM for the east coast runs.

MITM starts several days earlier …but for those coming in with the east rally you have to choose whether to drive out to Winter park for the day on Saturday or stay in Denver. So effectively you have to choose MITM or MTTS. right?

One would have to drive to CO a day or two early and not participate in the rally out to take part in MITM events so that you can go into Denver for the Fri-Sat MTTS events.

Todd, will you be leading the breakaway pack (skip dodge city) that makes the long run straight from KC to Winter Park on Thursday so that we can participate in the MITM drives and events on Friday?

Otherwise the logistics of doing anything at MITM from the east coast run means missing out on MTTS and vice versa. Splitting time between the two on one day seems impossible.

Agree. I’m from Vegas but because of a high school reunion in Kansas I plan to pick up with the eastern crowd out of KC. If we do go to Dodge, we don’t arrive in Denver until late Friday, meaning that MITM becomes a one day event and we miss everything in Denver…or vice versa. I think MITM got shafted on this one. I’m all for skipping Dodge City and going straight to Denver On Thursday.

dr – I doubt I’ll be leading the charge to skip Dodge City but nobody will stop folks who want to go on ahead and get an extra day of mountain driving at MitM. This whole event is whatever each of you choose to make of it. There will be a lot to choose from and no way to do it (drive it) all so each person should make their choices as they see fit. I would think there will be plenty of time to get some driving done on Saturday, Mountain or otherwise.

More details will be coming in the next couple of weeks.

There are posts now in some of the online forums that point to more detailed specifics regarding the timing of events.

MINI5280 is clearly making a valiant effort to coordinate their MITM schedule with the Denver activities. Max kudos to those folks. On the other hand, I see little evidence of MINI USA even acknowledging the existence of MITM in their press releases, let alone trying to offer up some schedule synergy. Too bad.

Correction…I see they now have some events they’re calling “MITM Participation Event” — but they all appear to be in Denver

Nice hotels for denver, My guess was for a track west of the city. The event center looks great.
Everything is brand new.

Sweet, thanks DB (that’s why I threw the little smiley in there). I was a more than a bit let down by MTTS in Los Angeles and I’m seriously hoping they ramp up their game for this one. I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to some MITM twisties!
