This photo (taken of a 2011 Cooper S Clubman undergoing final testing) shows clear what we can expect with the new color BRG II. When we originally told you about the new color we had expected it to be darker and deeper than the current BRG. Then we got some more recent information that it could be actually lighter. We can now see that’s not the case and in fact it’s very similar to Connaught Green from the limited edition WC50.

That’s a really good color, only thing is if it’s too close to Connaught Green. If it’s really close in person, then I would feel bad for the WC50 owners.

Their interior red trim and their special paint is pretty much copied then.

Looks like my car, but connaghtier!

That is not BRG. This is BRG…

will the real BRG pls stand up? so is my R56 BRG the BRG?

I’d love to see both colors next to each other.

Is it metallic? I agree, I’d like to see color swatches side by side.

As a WC50 owner I am not liking this.

Like to the look of it so far, will be interesting to see it in person. Still not as sweet as the WC-50 but I think a step in the right direction.

BRG does not look quite so good when it is dirty !!!

This looks pretty nice, but this is REALLY going to tick off the new owners of the WC50. Can you imagine a 2011 BRG ll with a white top and carbon fibre trim items? Right.

What rack is that in the photo? I didn’t see that on the MINI build site.

Rack? The side rails?

This is pissing off another WC50 owner. Not only for 2011 can you get the wheels and interior but now you can have the special exterior color as well. By the time this is finished all that will be special about by WC50 will be the 4 stickers on it.

I’ve owned two BRG metallic MINIs so far but I was never totally happy with the fact it was metallic. If this new color is non-metallic and it looks as good as the images show, I think it will be winner. While at MINI United @ Silverstone last year, I think brg metallic was one of the least seen colors out of all of the thousands of MINIs there. The WC-50 has both the roof and body colors down.

John, you mean the roof rails? It’s on the build. Step 3 under Handling. Yeah… not sure what roof rails have to do with handling but that’s where it’s always been. We bought my wife’s Clubman with these over a year ago. Add the cross bars and the accessories (storage box, bike rack, ski rack, etc.) of your choice.

If you look at the BMC/BLMC paint charts, there have been various shades of BRG over the years: http://www.mgexperience.net/article/bmc-paint.html

So I’d say it’s anybody’s call which is the REAL BRG.

I think the color in the photo looks great!

Thanks GaryD. I didn’t thing to look under Handling!

Let’s see now: Mini has just about nailed the Connaught Green, but a little metallic in so they can charge an additional $500, now we need the blackened out headlight buckets. The JCW will offer the red piping on the black seats, another $2000 probably, the wheels are offered painted black. All that is needed is to get the JCW Aero kit, and carbon fibre mirrors, and other accessories and you just about hit the WC-50 without Mike Coopers signature. But, all that will cost you in the mid to late $40’s. WC-50 guys, you got a deal, plus you still have the number on the side lights, and your BRG isn’t metallic. I think that I’ll still take my JCW in Midnight Black with Red.

BRG with a black roof? Who is the color co-ordinator at MINI? It should be a white roof or better still Old English White – now there’s another shade which can be 10 different shades of pale.
BRG metallic? Issigonis would turn in his grave. Next they’ll be painting 3-D shades and we will all have to wear those silly glasses!

Yes, BRG II is several steps in the right direction. Give that man a cigar and a large stein of beer.

Just wait.. they’ll keep the WC50 owners happy by offering this color on every model except the S… <:-p

I look forward to seeing it in person.

Disappointed. I have a BRG and I like the pine-blue-green part of the colour, which seems to have been lost. I expect I’ll be looking at the other colours when I replace it…

Brought my 06 MCS in to get the airbag light reset. In the showroom was a WC50, sweet car I wanted it bad! I feel bad for the people that own them though as they are making all the exclusive options available.
