Every year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed takes over West Sussex, bringing legendary drivers and marques together for a rip-roaring good time. Celebrating all things automotive, it has become an event for concept cars, concours and crackpipe cars alike. This year, industrial machinery maker Cummins has fitted an Austin Mini with a monsterous V18 diesel engine featuring 12 turbochargers for a grand total of 3500 bhp and 14,000 Nm of torque. The engine is currently the largest manufactured in Britain. It’s funny to think of the juxtaposition of the pint-sized British icon with the biggest British engine ever. Unsurprisingly, the car is nonfunctional.
One has to wonder if this beast would have a better range than the MINI E (also on display at Goodwood, as reported here on MF)…

Yet another diesel we’re not getting.

I want to see the Semi with the Mini engine in it..

Agreed – at least it might be functional. Slow, but functional.

Look at that nice little bed of turbos up top…

Now isn’t that typically American… if it moves, Race it! There is no substitute for horsepower! Bigger is better!
