Yet another MINI Countryman review today, this time from FoxNews.com. Overall, writer Gary Gastelu likes MINI’s new crossover offering, and we’ll give a tip of the hat for acknowledging that it’s MINI, not Mini. But the most fun part of his review is a little race he sets up to see if the R60 really lives up to MINI’s “go-kart handling” mantra. Click over for the video and full review.
<p>Glad they did not try to be serious with the “race”. Sure did look like the one 6 hp go cart kept well ahead of him. Either way cannot wait until MINI brings out ANYTHING else as MF due to the R60 introduction feels like its 90% crossover all the time lately lol</p>
<p>It will be nice when the Coupe comes out to diversify the discussions, although I do find the WRC stuff very interesting. I know you are not a fan, and I’m guessing there is widespread R60 fatigue…but it is the latest thing (other than Goodwood), so the amount of coverage is to be expected. But I do so look forward to reading the reviews on the Coupe, and can’t wait to hear more about a JCW version. It is another offering from MINI that I wouldn’t consider buying, but I am most interested in the performance they may achieve with that model.</p>

<p>Believe he only got past the one that spun, at the end of the video the other is over a half lap out in front.</p>

<p>No, he was nearly a half a lap behind. We started on opposite sides of the track. The tree is the marker – see which car passes it first. I was as surprised as anyone at the outcome.</p>

<p>I have seen that track on youtube before, famous dirt track for go karts.
I dont think they proved anything.</p>
<p>Just test drove a countryman minutes ago. Go cart handling is precisely what it is missing. But the all wheel grip under power is awesome. I couldn’t find a dirt track around the dealer, but highway exit ramps seemed to suffice.</p>
