MINI Clubman Media Launch is Here & We Want Your Questions
After months of anticipation were just hours away from driving the all new 2016 MINI Clubman. However before we do we want your questions.
Let us know what you want to know and see with the new Clubman. Additionally what do you want to know from MINI and what do you want us to ask? Fire away in the comments below.

I want this question to be directed to MINIUSA. Why can’t we order factory tinted windows? You can buy Subaru Outback wagons with tinted windows from the passenger doors on back. People elsewhere in the world have been able to spec this option for years in their MINIs. It’s about time for a change.

the answer to the tinted window thing is that each states have different laws concerning allowable tint. It’s easier (and cheaper) for MINI not to offer it and have the individual visit the local tint shop if needed.

I’m sure it’s different in drive character from an E91 wagon, however, how does it compare in general performance? Is it better than the F30? Does it feel brisk with the manual or does it need the JCW power upgrade?

I test drove an Automatic Clubman S over the weekend, here are my impressions …..
Very nice fit and finish.
Engine is definitely adequate for the larger vehicle, not sure the 3 cylinder would be though.
Plenty of room in the rear for adults now.
It drives and handles nicely but, of course not to the same level as the hardtop.
Note: A spare tire can be had for $100 – I wish one could be accommodated in the Hardtop.

Personally I still prefer the hardtop. Driving the Clubman did not induce a smile from me – that’s never happened during a MINI test drive before!

Not necessarily a question but a request. The Clubman is a golf sized car with added weight they really need GTI or Golf R levels of power as an option.

Do they think the new platform mate the BMW X1 may cannibalize some sales as they are priced closely when similarly configured?

Just drove our Cooper Clubman. The 3 cylinder engine is a great match for this car! I’m sure the Cooper S engine will feel (and be) faster, but the standard car feels just as it should!

I’d be interested in seeing some photos of the Clubman next to some other cars to get a better feel for how it will look on the road. If it’s the same size as a golf, what does it look like next to a Golf?

Yeah, but how does it carry its size. All vehicles ‘feel’ a certain size that is irrelevant of the actual measurements. I looked at a Clubman at the local dealership last week and it seemed really large, but that is sort of observation in a vacuum. I haven’t seen the Clubman in context. So, for me photos of the Clubman around other cars would be very interesting.

What are the target hp/tq for the JCW and if they start talking B48 hp/tq levels slap them and tell them it’s not good enough. JK Come on MINI, make it fast! We have some catching up to do if you want to be a premium hot hatch.

Just how it drives and is it MINI levels of fun with new levels practically for a MINI.

Still would have liked a vertical tail light solution. This seems so ordinary. A bit too Buick crossover.

the horizontal lights are much better suited to this new body style

New body style? We added one door and it got bigger.

It’s identical in size to the five door Golf.

I am most interested in the plug-in AWD Clubman mentioned earlier (using a system similar to the 225xe). When can we expect the plug-in?

I was told this won’t be happening anymore, just the normal gas/all4 setup now :(

I know they were re-evaluating offering it on the Clubman earlier this year with the thought it may only be on the Countryman.

Too bad; if they change their mind I would be on my way to see you with a deposit.
