This year’s Dakar wasn’t the triumph for MINI that some had hoped. But to many that wasn’t a surprise. MINI’s new 2017 Countryman JCW simply didn’t have the testing and development time that the Peugeot team and others had over the last year. Still thought it was a good showing for a brand new car and a few new teams. And given the grueling nature of the Dakar, finishing is plenty to celebrate.
With that said lets look back on the race and the new Countryman from it’s development to fishing sixth in the most challenging motorsport event in the world.
