MTTS registration closes today. So that means if you’re considering participating in one of the many events associated with MTTS and haven’t registered, you have until Monday at noon to do so. You can find an entire list of MTTS events here.
And that list doesn’t include one big unannounced event we’ve recently had verified. Yes the rumors are true, MINI USA will be offering a lap at the famed Indianapolis Speedway as part of their Indianapolis festivities on the 30th of August. So if you want to take part in activities such as the Brickyard drive, you need to register below:
[ MINIs Take the States ] MINIUSA.com
The MTTS site states that registration closes at Noon EST on 7/24, not the end of the day.
…to quote my feelings on why I choose not to attend such a very cool event, let me use a line made famous by Florida Evans, from the show,”Good Times”. “…Dammmn’…Dammmn’…DAMMN’!” For those who are attending MTTS…have fun…be safe…and,”Happy Motoring”!

Sweet.. This is fantastic!! I didn’t think MINIUSA was going to be able to pull that one off.
Are they really still people that haven’t signed up yet!?
SSSSHHHHH! We gotta keep this a secret! There’s almost 600 people signed up for the Indy leg already! 😉
Seriously, I think this is going to be a blast!
I was alreay registered for three legs, but just added St. Louis to Indianapolis. Sounds like a once in a lifetime kind of thing…
I really wanted to go to the VA leg but will be vacationing in San Francisco the whole time. Not sure which I would rather be doing to be honest!
Would have loved to attend but I still feel a little hurt by MINIUSA bypassing the entire state of Florida, one of their biggest markets in the nation.
I just went to Nashville (In my ’05 MCS) from Miami a couple of months ago and had a great time but right now don’t have the time to embark again on the same roadtrip to be able to join the closest passing point of the event to South Florida (About 1000 miles).
If MINIUSA ever decides to include Florida in a similar caravan, I’ll be interested but for now all I can do is to wish all the attendees a fun and safe time.

Unfortunately one of the many prices we pay for living in Florida is being too far out of the way for many national touring events and concert series to bother with. For MINI to route MTTS down and back to Miami or Key West, you would add anywhere from 1,200 to 2,000 miles to the trip. At the average leg length of around 300 miles per day, you would add almost another week to the trip. While I love the idea of the keys overun with hundreds of MINIs, I think the amount of time the whole trip would take, and the additional financial costs would make it even more difficult for some people to participate.
As far as the legs I’m participating in, I’ve been lucky that I have a good bit of family in the general area and can justify joining the tour as a long overdue trip to visit family and my home town. As a matter of fact, the off the beaten path route on the Nashville to St. Louis leg runs right through my home town of Cadiz, Kentucky, and was the final spark to go on the trip. Oh and lapping Indy will be cool too…
