“The car has a tendency to leap for reverse when going into second” How does that happen? Isn’t Reverse next to 1st gear in the standard H pattern? And if this is a Cooper S review, why do they spend so much time showing the Cooper?
It’s unfortunate how they word the MINI redesign’s need to “meet crash standards” – makes it sound as though the previous car was somehow unsafe in an impact. It would have been nice to mention that the crash standard they were meeting was in fact the silly pedestrian EU regulation.

I won’t miss the supercharger whine. I always thought it was a bit annoying.
Who’s whineing now James?
The car in that video is a Cooper, not a Cooper S. MSN FTL!
