I have to say, I have a different Idea of “touchless” than the owners of that car wash.
I would bet the car would be OK probably. I would hope that they took some care to ensure that getting caught with the top down in teh rain was not certain to destroy your cars electronics.
Update – because one question didn’t give me any rest: What happened to the car?
I got on the phone and called the agency: The MINI is still alive! The little one survived the carwash without damage. OK, it was wet. But the brave bloke didn’t just go through the cleaning inferno once, but three times – mind you, without a trace of any kind of damage. Even the electronics didn’t take the mistreatment in the name of research personally and continued their duties with no problem after the shoot.
The small amount of water that hadn’t already poured out through the doors was subsequently removed by professionals. Then the MINI was allowed into the sauna. The red convertible was dried for five hours in a special oven. And then? Off it went to the pool – a dry one, however. The pool for photographed cars. The R57 is now waiting for its next assignment.

Is it just me, or does flashing the official MINI logo at the beginning and end detract from the “viral†feel of the video?

It doesn’t have to be secret to be viral. I viral video (or marketing campaign) is simply one that passes from person to person (like a virus!) rather than through more traditional media like TV or radio. Lots of famous viral marketing things have been secretive or mysterious, but it’s not a hard/fast requirement.
I doubt that car will never be driven again. I can imagine the damage to all the electronics that must’ve been caused.
Eh.
HA! Oh those Crazy Canucks…only in Toronto…LOL
Wonder if those brushes left any swirl marks on their foreheads.
Daft as (dare I say) a brush?
Oh god, why would you do that…
Must have been a rental.
I can’t believe mini didn’t put a disclaimer up saying “don’t actually do this, it will ruin your interior”
But the car should run fine, the central computer should be dry.
Now you know how your MINI feels.
Never subject it to one of those torture machines!
All I can say is I hope they got the extra insurance with their Rental!
Instead of ruining it like that they could have given it to me!!!!
Did anyone else see it was a 2009 and they are not for sale yet. Staged my MINI. Nice to see another color besides Yellow and Blue though
Ron White is right again. Stupid can’t be fixed.
I suppose MINI will now add a new useless gauge to tell you how many times you got wet with the top down.

Please find out the VIN of this car so it doesn’t end up on the hands of an unsuspecting customer.
Well this comes from MINIUNITED blog:

I still would not want that car.

It will be interesting to see how MINI USA handles the warranty claim when some owner brings his 57 in saying he saw it done in a MINI ad!

I guess I’m associating “viral” and “guerilla” when they don’t actually have to go together.
🙂
Wrong. Just bloody wrong.
I liked it. Very much in line with the spirit of the MINI.
Pretty funny!
