How far would you go to win a MINI? Stand with your hand on it for 12 days? Eat your weight in cherry pie? Well Autoblog is reporting that a german radio station recently gave away a MINI Cooper in a contest of who could come up with the biggest stunt to demonstrate how badly they wanted the car. The winner, Andreas Muller, overcame stiff competition to take the prize by having “MINI” tattooed on his …well, we’ll call it his “Johnson Rod”.
That’s right, a live radio audience listened in as Mr. Muller got some custom ink embroidery on his personal shift knob. No photos have surfaced (thank the gods), but Mr. Muller is now the proud owner of his very own brand new MINI. Now he just needs a good vanity plate.
What would you do to win a new MINI?

You know they say the bigger the vehicle the smaller the….

And the opposite is true…

seems like an interesting selection of a winner. wonder if they took into consideration how often (or not) the tattoo would actually be seen…

did he also get tattooed “actual size”?

Not that.

1st mod should be a Whalen shift knob with an engraving of his naughty bits..

Someone else did this?! I did the same thing, but mine reads: “2002 MINI Cooper with Sports Package” and then goes on to list the options and full Vin Number, and an artist’s rendering of my MINI, Mack. Not sure what I’ll eventually do with the extra space….

Heh heh… reminds me of this little gem I saw a few years ago: http://scaryideas.com/content/4714/

Glad I wasn’t sipping hot coffee when I first saw it!

Ha, that’s an odd occurrence as I just added a TAT shirt…

Ouch. No. Maybe for a 1M…

lol @ Mike

I put “Pull to inflate” on my junk……

Did he get the Mini Extended Warranty??

Hmmm…the MINI brand has a reputation of racing to finish first…so is the tatoo just a little truthful advertising?

Although I would like to win a MINI, there are somethings that are going too far and this guy should not have been given the prize. This is just stupid and does not reflect the MINI brand at all. Its not even funny. Completely outside MINI demographics.
Keep it clean and a family show please.
Filth and Sex are best left for other brands.

You are correct, he should not have been given a Mini for such poor behavior, but given Mini’s advertising record I understand how it happened.

@GregW…. Wow, a suggestion, lighten up.

Folks, he didn’t win the car from MINI. He won it from a radio station. This was not part of an ad campaign or anything else on the part of MINI. It just happened to be a MINI being given away. Could have just as easily been a VW, or a Camaro.

I can’t believe I have to explain this.

…did I also hear that he got a letter from BMW lawyers about wrongful use of their trademark???

Nathaniel Salzman:

You are correct, it was a radio station and not Mini doing the promo. Does not say much positive about that station!

heard this last week, crazy

Does not say much positive about that station!

Have you heard some of the morning radio shows that are out there? This isn’t any stranger than some of the things I heard on Howard Stern’s show.

I would do it if I could get my old R53 back. Wish I had never sold that car…

@MINIme: it’s not too late. Look for it. I bought my old R50 back after I wished I hadn’t sold it years ago. “reunited and it feeeels so goooood!”

What would you do to win a new MINI?

Gabe echos my sentiments. I love my MINI, but I’d rather pay for it than have to do that.

Ouch!
